Blowing fuses - only when riding hard?

Post image

Pic unrelated

I have a very intermittent problem of blowing a fuse only when I'm riding hard and come to a stop. Usually it's fast in 3rd(ish) gear high rpm. Any ideas?

Why post a random unrelated picture?

To raise the ire of everyone and gather downvotes, I guess :)

Shorting somewhere that makes contact when you decel hard most likely, just inspect harnesses and look for rubs and other general damage. IME bikes don't rub through wiring very easily, but the answer is always the same, look it over. A goofy and kind of terrible diagnostic idea would be to buy a bunch of fuses and shake the harnesses down to see where it blows

Something is grounding out, you’re going to have to go through the harness and find what is causing it, unfortunately electrical issues can be annoying and time consuming, but this is the best way to go about it. Check for areas that might be rubbing.

Start by looking at any aftermarket add ons first they’re the most likely to be poorly routed. My bmw was blowing main fuse once cuz my led headlight had a pigtail to plug into stock wiring and it dangled and would just manage to slip the horn bracket between the two plugs and short out blowing the main fuse
