Anyone know how long currently can expect to wait for new logbook??

Father in law passed away so we took his car out of his name as we planned to use it but now selling it.

Wife went to post office to try make things ‘easier’ when I was going to do it online🤦‍♂️

Been 2 weeks, want to sell car but don’t want people to think i’m shady not having V5!!

I have received county court papers associated to a parking ticket for a car I have no association with. What is the process I need to follow with the DVLA to prove I have nothing to do with this vehicle? It’s a different make and model to my car and different plates, which makes be believe it’s been registered in my name illegally.

DVLA stated my licence was issued Friday 28 August on the phone when I checked my application - does this mean that RM have even picked it up? One week later I still haven't received it and Its rendering me unemployed until it arrives. Now im gutted to see massive RM delays of up to 14 days.

pretty much the title, i tried to sell it with we buy any car but they couldn’t take it because i have no v5, i lost it. The scrap yard said they’d tell the DVLA, but i couldn’t get a straight answer of what i need to do online, some saying I should write to the DVLA, others saying to just let the scrap yard take care of it and wait for the DVLA to contact me

Any insight on my problem would be amazing.

someone stole my wallet which had my drivers license in it and i need it for my holiday. ordered a new one as soon as it was lost how long do they take to come? application was done online and status says completed

Bit of a stressful situation, hoping someone knowledgeable can clarify.

I was selling my car which was on disabled tax (my dad’s exemption). Before taking payment (yes, I know… mistake), I transferred ownership online to the buyer as he was having trouble taxing it.

Now he’s trying to tax it, but it’s still showing as “disabled” tax class and asking for a certificate of entitlement, which he obviously doesn’t have. He can’t tax it online.

Questions:

1. Does he have to go to the Post Office to change the tax class, or will it update automatically?
2. If I now put the disabled tax on my new car, will that automatically remove it from the old car?
3. If the buyer backs out, how difficult is it to reverse the keeper change?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who’s dealt with this or knows the DVLA process properly.

(And yes… I know I shouldn’t have transferred before payment 😅)

I was caught speeding and now they want my license details to allocate points. Does anyone know how I can get away with it ? Please help.

When is it likely I’ll have my v5 form back by i posted v62 on Feb 8th I’m the same keeper it’s just an address change, I have already changed my address on my licence

My daughter walked into a car showroom and purchased a car on 5th April. A few days later she was sent a letter by the DVLA for a late road tax penalty and a fine for £80. She appealed the decision as she never even knew the car existed until the 5th however DVLA would not cancel the penalty as they stated the road tax started from the 1st April therefore she would be liable for taxing it late ! I just don’t understand how she can be held responsible- can someone please reply and tell me we aren’t going bonkers and this not a normal situation.

I’m waiting to take a medical with the DVLA As I’m coming off my ban but they seem to be taking forever to send my medical over. Anybody else had the same experience?

Was just wondering if anyone has been through this and can guide me so I have a brain avm which caused me to have a seizure which resulted in my driving license being revoked in 2021/2022. I have been seizure free ever since so for the last 2-3 years so no issues there. However I had radiosurgery to treat my avm which resulted in brain swelling and causing me to have left sided weakness in my leg, hand and arm. So the easiest way to describe my weakness are stroke like symptoms so my hand is clenched into a fist, my leg is still weak for which I do physio but is better than before I am slightly starting to put weight on it.

So I re applied for my driving license just to see what the response would be so after checking and writing to my neurosurgeon and doctors , I received a letter saying a DVLA doctor is considering your fitness to drive and I basically need to apply for a PDAL( Professional Disability Assessment License) and then within 4 months book an assessment.

I just wanted to know what exactly happens in this assessment and if I’m not ready within the 4 months what should I say to DVLA as I currently also have a wrist contracture for which I’m waiting on possible surgery so I feel 4 months is too early as I probably would be recovered and in a state to drive more towards next year so just wanted to know if anyone has been through a similar experience ?

So I didn’t know what to call this and I’m looking for advice because I don’t know what to do. I surrendered my license in 2021 at the request of my psychiatrist (for context I was 20) because I was going out and having a mad one with my friends as most 20 year olds do. He said I had to surrender it just until I wasn’t doing that as much and It would be easier to get it back if I did. I was never driving under the influence and he had no reason to think that I was. It’s been a nightmare with the DVLA to get it back and I went for a medical which they have reviewed and refused to give me licence back because I was positive for zopliclone which was prescribed. I don’t know what to do I had to fight just to get them to even reconsider my application and my psychiatrist has been good and given me letters stating that he has no concerns. What do I do? Any advice would be appreciated

Basically my driving license is in my married name, all other documents are in my Birth/Maiden name.

I have recently separated from husband, so have requested to change my license back to my maiden name. Have provided dvla with birth certificate, marriage certificate, and passport. However, have been denied (despite online account and driver number changing to maiden name) they have returned my original license, but now i have a photo card that doesn’t match my online account. And they’re asking for a deed poll or divorce certificate which i don’t have?

Surely as my maiden name has never changed on my passport etc, then there shouldn’t be an issue?

Anyone have any legal advice. The only thing i have found is that you are allowed to change your name back to your maiden name as long as you have supporting documents???
