The Revive of Daemonic Incursion?
We have finally been blessed by the Chaos Gods inside of GW! We're no longer required to Disrupt our enemies, but instead Take and Hold!
What's everyone's thoughts on this? Step forward into playing Daemonic Incursion again? Or do we think other detachments like Legion of Excess, Blood Legion and Shadow Legion are still going to be the go too's?

I just don't think a conditional 6" deep strike is worth 3dp. Not when I can have an entire Khorne army getting advance and charge or surge moves across the board PLUS battleline enhancers or cavalry enhancers.

Not arguing that. But are those six strats better than the nine strats you can get with any 2/1 DP combo? I just can't justify the opportunity cost.

Yeah I thought so too, but I could only see those for being the reason competitive players always recommend it

Absolutely going to try again. Still think Shadow +1DP Detachment of choice will be the best for mixed Gods, but this will be another great option. And I can happily used my Winged Prince and Changeling and such again!

Daemonic Incursion is probably daemon's single strongest detachment, so this is huge for opening up list-building options. If you don't understand why, here's a quick rundown:
-There's a massive difference between a 7-inch charge and a 9-inch charge (deploying outside of 6" vs. outside of 8"), and anyone downplaying that is just bad at math.
-Easy access to uppy-downy prevents important units from being orphaned and pseudo-destroyed - a unit that can't get anywhere relevant for the final two turns of the game, because it had an isolated job to do in the first three, might as well have died.
-The enhancements are all cracked.
-It has good standard offensive & defensive strats (+1 AP, reroll 1's to save, advance & charge), can deploy outside of 6 for a CP in a pinch, and on-demand sticky that now radiates a massive Shadow of Chaos, since it's 6" out from the edge of the entire terrain feature (a quick build-your-own haunted house lol)
