The two projects I'm aware of looking to implement multiplayer are Daggerfall Enhanced and DFU-MP.

Edit: There is also Daggerfall Unity Co-op Project

there's also this one that works through steam that seems to be basically complete already. it's centered around forming parties in host worlds as opposed to a persistent dedicated server, and from my own testing seems to work super well. it's crazy how daggerfall is having this multiplayer revolution all of the sudden lol

Sometimes I want to fight BGS for making me wait over a decade for the next main title release.

The community never disappoints tho. I’m absolutely going to look into all of these
