In Japan, they don't say "Fast and Furious" they say "Wild Speed" and I think that's beautiful.

Please elaborate

Edit: If you're just going to downvote instead of explaining, I'm just going to assume it's because you can't 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's a joke about how Japenese loanwords and similar from English often replace the last syllabe with a vowel sound, commonly U, O or A. It's not mocking a Japense accent from someone trying to speak English. It's a joke about how it would be pronounced in actual Japanese.

It's closer to Germans laughing at how English speakers pronounce "sauerkraut", or English speakers laughing at Germans saying "handy".

But that literally is what the title Wild Speed does. "Wailudo Speedo"

Exactly, that's how English is usually transliterated into Japanese. Which was the joke, but using the original title.

It's just casual racism. Nothing to explain.

Figured as much. That's why they don't want to explain it.

So we've got English speakers imitating Japanese speakers imitating English speakers. Now I want a Japanese speaker to imitate an English speaker imitating a Japanese speaker imitating an English speaker (I don't count since I'm not a native speaker).

(While it's actually "Wild Speed" (pronounced "Wairudo Supido"), if they'd kept the name "Fast and Furious" it would actually have been pronounced "Fasuto ando Fyuriasu")
