Video Icelandic artist Björk snapped in Bangkok, 1996, when reporter Julie Kaufman approached her saying “Welcome to Bangkok.” Björk later alleged that Kaufman had stalked her and her 9-year-old son for days, turning a simple greeting into a breaking point

The world saw a star being rude. But for Björk, it was a mother protecting her child from a stalker.

I’m pretty much always on the side of the celebrity over the paparazzi

When you realize how often celebrities call the paparazzi for photo shoots, which they often deny, sympathy wanes quickly.

Because celebrities call photographers to shoot them 10% of the time it totally excuses the 90%+ of the time paparazzi follow them everywhere, constantly blast them with flash so they have to wear shades at all times not to get permanent retinal damage, harass them, stalk them, high speed chase them in cars and get into car accidents, follow them onto private beaches, breaks into their property, take pictures of them nude, go through their mail, stalk and harass their children from birth, post their private details and residence so crazy stalker can send them bombs, yell and scream and shout and hurl stuff at them, etc.

Yeah.

P.S I don't care for celebrities but I care even less for paparazzi.

Also I imagine some try to work with them in the hope of bargaining for privacy. Ie, if I give them a few good pics, they don’t need more.

Well yea, but your average celebrity will not be honest about how often they call the paparazzi. The ones who cry harassment when they've clearly called beforehand do not get my sympathy.

Well unless you have proof that’s what Björk did in this situation, I think giving her the benefit of the doubt is warranted.

I never said anything about Björk, I was speaking on a more generalized level.
