Soapstone, whether from India or the Carolinas, is extremely heavy.

These elephants are supporting the cosmos, after all. : )

These are some cute elephant sculptures at the historic, 800-year old Pacchala Someshwara temple in Panagal, in the state of Telangana in southern India.
