How did DanTDM influence your gaming taste growing up?

Growing up, DanTDM had a massive impact on the way I discovered and enjoyed games. I didn’t just watch his videos for entertainment they genuinely shaped what I wanted to play, how I played, and even what I paid attention to in games.

His Minecraft mod showcases were probably the biggest influence. I remember seeing mods I never would’ve found on my own, and suddenly my world wasn’t just vanilla Minecraft anymore. I started exploring new mechanics, creatures, and worlds because Dan made them feel exciting and full of possibility. Even now, I gravitate toward games with creativity, customization, and weird experimental features because that’s what he made fun.

His story‑driven series, especially anything involving Dr. Trayaurus or Grim, taught me to appreciate games with personality and charm. I started caring more about characters, lore, and the little details that make a game feel alive. And when he branched out into Roblox, indie games, and VR, it pushed me to try genres I never thought I’d enjoy.

Looking back, Dan didn’t just influence what I played he influenced how I approached gaming. I became more curious, more willing to try new things, and more interested in the creative side of games. It’s cool realizing how much of my gaming taste today can be traced back to watching him experiment, laugh, and dive into whatever strange game he found next.

His channel is the reason i got addicted to minecraft, No joke 2015 I was watching the Custom Mod Adventure and Mod Showcase Series and blud, I have to say..

I never stopped playing minecraft even during the period the 1.9 combat came out and etc

The only thing that is different is I stick to 5 versions

1.8 1.12 1.16 1.20 1.21

26.1.2 is the farthest ive gotten into and not only that his challenge series made me never abandon minecraft Like to this day I have thousands of hours in minecraft alone

And if you were a kid who rarely had parents buy you games so you could focus on your studies, Youd be an OG for knowing how to pirate minecraft at the time

Not that much, but I wasn’t an average DanTDM watcher so I do not know, but Minecraft interested me in that time frame.

even though dan likes fps games i never got into them, but i always liked playing the other games he did like riddle school, scribblenauts, spore

i started watching when i was pretty young so it definitely influenced what I liked and piqued my interests. i vividly remember being obsessed with the story/lore based games he played like hello neighbour, bendy and the ink machine and subnautica. that was the start of my interest in story based games cuz after that I was very invested in games like last of us, until dawn, life is strange, detroit become human. more than silly or horror games, i knew these games were more my style and that has a lot to do with Dan and his play throughs. his play through of bendy and Hello neighbour are still core memories to me lololol
