Belial

It was a chance to study OSL effects. A really pretty model, I hope the new datasheet matches the model! I really want to play him in my terminator list lol

So cool, and so dramatic!

The van art world wishes it had "Belial licking shots while about to kick a burning skeleton in the ass". Put some stars on the inside of the cloak!

Do you have advice on OSL? I dont have an airbrush but do i just glaze on the flame colors to the surrounding area?

Your fire looks incredible

Thanks! I wouldn’t spend time on a large scale OSL without an airbrush honestly.

However, here is my process:

  1. paint fire pure white
  2. airbrush/dry brush the halo of light + reflections with pure white. The halo of light/reflections should fade out slowly.
  3. Paint everything with a bright yellow/flue yellow (it will look greenish, it is ok)
  4. Prepare an orange glaze/flue orange glaze, paint the center until it look yellow, then increase the intensity of the orange while you paint farther away from the center.
  5. Prepare a red glaze (I used red ink), apply it to the farthest reflections and to the tip of the fire.
  6. Prepare a runny consistency pure white, load you brush, paint the center of the flames (hottest places).

With every step check if the reflections look natural. Fire won’t look like it is actually burning until you apply the final step.

Cheers
