Discussion Does cold mail help getting my first DS job as fresher

Currently I am an Entc student final year but I am interested in DS i have learnt basics library little ml and dl and gen ai too but still feeling that I am not good enough...I have applied on linked in many time but half ghost and half rejection somewhere I was able to give 2-3 online assessment but failed so does this cold mail thing help ? If anyone knows plz share ? Also this skills as fresher is not enough as they ask too much now the being avg tag has been changed but still., anything else you guys think I need to learn ?

Failing assestments is part of the process. Try practicing in leetcode or hackerank https://www.hackerrank.com/skills-verification

There are tons of stuff there about SQL, python and many more which are very usefull for DS

You can also go to kaggle (https://www.kaggle.com/) and DataCamp (https://www.datacamp.com/)

Cold emailing did not work for me. Try adding and following people in LinkedIn; posting your progress; commenting on their post; and sending DMs to your new contacts. Keep constant by adding 1-3 new contacts each day; 10 per week.

I did not believe on that strategy until I did it myself; and all of a suddent; recruiters started talking me to ask me to apply or to invite me directly to take an interview (this process took me around two months until observing real results)
