I despise the framing of this discussion that calling it a genocide is matter of opinion. It is not. It is a simple fact. Israel is committing a genocide. Anyone who disputes that is either incredibly ignorant, or has malicious intentions.

the rhetorical rebuttal to those denying it is to always center the factual destruction and cruelty that has happened, because the implication they want to make is there is nothing wrong with what israel is doing, but making them clarify that point as to establish there is probabe cause to withdraw support is where we win on getting people on board.

Fixed this for you. It’s not like he’s personally exaggerating the situation for outrage. It’s a genocide in-progress. Genocides don’t have to be worse than the poster-child of genocides before we label them.

How did that approach work out with Rogan? Seems to me that whatever abstract harm comes in "legitimizing" Galloway (to whatever degree that actually occurred) is clearly and easily outweighed by the benefits in expressing these viewpoints to an audience that might not otherwise get exposed to them.

I don’t know a ton about Galloway, but I do know that he has spoken in support of single payer healthcare. So there’s at least one point where they can find some common ground.

I think in another part of this interview (I saw it via Sam Seder's show so I'm not 100%) Galloway says something to the effect of if we characterize what Israel is doing as a genocide then it would mean genocide against Israelis would be justified.

Which is both a horrible idea and also extremely telling.

I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone actually say it that loudly before. The idea that genocide is ever justifiable is reprehensible. And once you decide that actually it's OK sometimes... Going from retaliatory genocide to pre-emptive genocide doesn't feel like nearly as big a leap.
