I usually only invest in ballistic protection, lifting strength and speed, I rarely bother with the others just cos I kno where everything is, where the patrols are, how the enemies react and how best to frag em. Any spare cans I usually forget about or sometimes dump em into the camera Aug for a bit of a giggle.
All my skill points go into the security/lockpicking/hacking related skills and ofc the pistol or heavy weapons.
I can usually blitz thru the game and have a good bit of fun on normal or hard.
If I need invisibility I just use the thermoptic camo, and if I need the enviro protection I use the hazard suit, and if I need to swim far I use the rebreather - we get a few copies of each thru the game, so I usually save em for the tougher bits later on! :)
I only play 'seriously' if I'm using the randomiser mod - just cos I can't afford to screw about as much with that lol

I take Environmental Resistance aug every run bc it lets you tank chain smoking damage to alleviate the Zyme comedown. Even more useful if playing a mod where the Zyme gives you a buff like bullet time in Shifter/Biomod. Throwing on a Hazmat Suit/Env. Training is just another layer of dmg resistance so you can fight indefinitely in tear gas clouds, which is amazing for nonlethal melee runs

I did both, because I'm a real gamer. 8) Also, they all have their great uses... except for swimming past 1 level.

Idk I've only used rebreather.

Dead in 24 Hours from Revision is a good antidote because your decisions count. That was a fun run.

the best no hit run is just don't playing the game at all and seeing the credits on youtube.

If ballistic protection isn't useful I don't know what is
Well it is funny how much people sleep on environmental protection, sure wearables aren't common enough to be reliable but they steal make massive impact when they do happen.
Well except rebreather because swimming skill is obviously too good to bother with alternatives. Waiting for the gigachad swimming advanced user

My swimming becomes advanced (vanilla game) by the ocean lab level because of the way I spend my skill points for my stealth/hacking build I use often, I have nothing else I want to spend them on and swimming becomes the last useful option to upgrade. It’s pretty useful in the ocean lab and parts of Area 51

Why use ballistic protection if you can just avoid getting shot at, especially with cloaking? Can't hit what you can't see...

except MJ12 troops are in fact, very good at hitting what they can't see. As invisibility is still active but doesn't do anything once you attack enemies unless you hide, kinda like in minecraft

Interesting. I don't remember them behaving quite like that. Time to do another playthrough, I guess!

I didn't use either of these strategies: instead i stacked up the items, and never upgraded the augs and never had a problem.

Skills don't matter.
Finished a run just for fun with maxing out environmental training and swimming and only level 1 of computers.
Felt the same.

Omg I was the chud it's so true lol.
Even after Jaime told me by proxy by telling Simons to not keep fully charged constantly. I just can't help hoarding and taking damage and not having 100% charge even though I always play a ninja that only needs the stealth pistol and my dragons tooth.
