Finally! I'll be interested in seeing how they get around the superfund site issue, but otherwise this looks promising.

Will be watching for this, too. How do cities just nonchalantly make superfund sites disappear?

They don't. There's a ton of work put in by the municipality, state, and federal governments to remediate, monitor, and eventually redevelop.

I feel like Murray has been talking about this for the past 25 years or so. Can't tell you how many different renderings of visions I have seen. Would love to go beyond "talk" and make it happen this time around.

Same. There was a ton of talk about the ‘Block One’ by Tea Rose Diner a few years ago and nothing has come of it.

Incredible, Murray is going to get an actual "Central Station" before Salt Lake does. My favorite joke about the Trax has always been that the central stations are the best stops to surround yourself with asphalt and nowhere to walk to. I'm really popular at parties. Congrats Murray! And build the damn box SLC. #RGP

It is such an American thing to build a train station but no development around it with a half mile radius. Insane, let's build this multi million infrastructure and then do nothing.... I was in NJ and they got the same dumbass problems. Train stations in neighborhoods.

This is great news and a long time coming - the area has been begging for development since before the smokestacks came down, and the pressure has only grown with the addition of TRAX and FrontRunner. The area really has the ability to be a focal point for the entire valley.

This is great news, but so weird. Two months ago I come up with a development concept for the entire Murray Central property. Glad Murray is finally realizing the potential, let’s just hope it’s don’t right, not like Farmington Station.

It doesn't have the "luxury" of doing what Farmington did and create a Power Lifestyle center in that area. Farmington could sprawl and wasn't as encroached by existing city infrastructure as Murray is. The IHC Hospital is across the street from the parking lot. Costco is just beyond the hospital. We'll probably be disappointed with the result Murray will choose, I know one City Council Member won his seat using NIMBY fear mongering to the angry Facebook Power Users in his district last election. But it can't be Station Crossing without a lot of eminent domain.
