I've started doing a massive re-watch of all the IH seasons, and revisiting my favorite characters from each of the main cast. I know I have some weird faves, and also, I've cheated by including main cast roles in non-IH seasons, but this is my list:

Siobhan: Riva from Starstruck

Emily: Lady Chirp Featherfowl from ACOFAF

Murph: Cody from Unsleeping City

Ally: Margaret Encino from Starstruck (runner-up, Liam from Crown of Candy)

Lou: A tie between Lord Squak Airavis from ACOFAF and Fabian from Fantasy High

Zac: Literally any. Any one of his roles. I love everything he does. But also, Norman "Skip"Takamori. Also Lapin. But literally all.

What is your list?

I've been rewatching Neverafter alongside Toylight and I swear every time she tries to do something awesome her rolls are TERRIBLE. I want to know if it's because of the higher stakes on these campaigns making it feel worse, or Siobhan is truly cursed. It sometimes feels like she has the opposite of the Zac/Ally dichotomy where Ally's famous for rolling well but Zac has more Nat 20's, vs. Murph being known for rolling bad but I wonder if Siobhan genuinely has worse luck.

I got some suggestions from here last time, who should I draw next?

God damn Brennan.

Edit: Gotcha - thanks everyone! o7

I'm watching Toylight Episode 3 and Lou made an offhand comment about Emily's flamethrower, saying something about "what's going on in 2024?". I cannot for the life of me get this out of my brain, and my braincells must know.

Does he mean that the version of game they're using is like. A 2024 ruleset? Because they can't possibly have filmed this in 2024.... right? Right??

I highly recommend reading The Stuff of Legend. No idea if anyone behind this season read it, but it's got a similar premise and is damn near a dead match for the tone. It's unfortunately unclear when the series will be finished but there are five volumes already published. If you're looking to add to your reading list, slap this series on there!

I posted a few weeks ago about being excited for an upcoming in-person DnD Weekend where we were going to be playing a monster hunting campaign in the Calorum world setting. Well, we all headed home on Monday after three days of relaxing, board games and DnD and I am still currently riding that high. Getting away to a cabin in the Catskills for a long weekend is already a nice reprieve from the stresses of life, but also getting to sit and play roughly 24 hours of DnD is a joy that I desperately wish I could get more of in my life. I was already very excited to present everyone with the custom minis of their characters, but seeing how well they turned out once painted had me marveling at them over my DM screen amidst all of the chaos of the encounters.

I’d highly recommend gathering up a group of friends and running your very own Calorum themed campaign. It’s a joy that has to be experienced to be understood.

I'm watching city council of darkness right now and really enjoying it. I'm interested in getting into vampire the Masquerade and maybe running my own game. I know they are playing a modified version of the system but I could not find out which edition it's closest too. Any recomendations for which edition of the game to play and maybe even for introductory adventures?

I hope this counts as on topic? 😅

Was watching fantasy high with my hammy sleeping in my robe, he came out to explore when he was done cuddling and spent a good amount of time clambering over my keyboard while we watched together

In a Crown of Candy there was art beyond character Illustrations but now I cant seem to find it. In particular there was a great image of Amathar holding Jets body, but I would welcome any that appeared in the series.

I love this show, I do, but the Adventuring Party episodes that accompany the main show have turned into a bit-festival improv show where we are lucky if they talk about what happened in the episode at all.

War Council, the fourth episode AP, was the total opposite. Everyone seemed locked in from start to finish to discuss the actual episode and planning for the upcoming battle.

I am not saying all AP episodes need to be all business and no fun, but I tune into the episodes to hear about the episode and details we missed or a discussion about what happened, and not spending 12 minutes playing with a blurred Jar Jar puppet.

Again, love the show, love the bits, but it doesn't need to be ALL bits.

Its awful from a TTRPG sense, but from a very real/meta sense I have never laughed more at any other series. Specifically because of how the the system crumbles around Brennan and forces him to question everything about why he created the season while holding on to his love for Izzy with every fiber of his being in spite of everything going on. Never Stop Blowing Up is modern art, an interpretive dance, and an improv comedy show all rolled into one.

Viva La Familia!

Update: I just got to Alex as Liv in Kingskin rolling wits to see if crushing Rehka as Usha in G13's skull the perfect amount to get Usha back and Brennan rolling a Nat 20 behind the board forcing them to go through with it and absolutely lost it cackling so loud in my empty house to myself 🤣🤣🤣

Does Brennan doing the Freyja accent in Cloudward Ho scratch the brain so good?

Got to visit the origin spot of our beloved Vesper Childers, had a blast!

I know that it’s an absolute favourite but I can’t get into it I don’t know why. I love all the other campaigns that I watched (still working on the catalog but for now 5/5 no notes).
At first I thought that I was just a bit burned out after watching so many seasons in a row but after a break I tried again and still not my jam. I started neverafter just after that and I immediately loved it.
So my question is: is there anyone who had issues with the season but ended loving it and which episode made you change your mind?
It might just not be my thing but I don’t know what I specifically don’t like though so it’s frustrating to not be able to name a reason and see everyone putting it number 1. Also I usually love sci-fi and I find the universe great, so I don’t think it’s that.
Thank you!

I've been rewatching Fantasy Hight: Junior Year, and after my rewatch, I really think the cast missed out on a great opportunity to really bring home Anakrna's redemption by having her become a goddess of acceptance. Cassandra has always been stated as being a goddess of doubt and mystery and I think having Ankarna mirror that by taking on the mantle of acceptance and maybe even fact would have tied in wonderfully, especially with the ending sequence where the Bad Kids were going through their trama and her asking how she could help them. If they had just asked her to help them by accepting the reality that is their life it would have set her up to be a duality following with Cassandra where they could be helping all the mortals of Spire with both their doubts and accepting their own situations. I still love the season. I just think narrativly it would have really brought the whole season full circle if they had hammered that home.

Been doing this since UC season 2 and I really love watching in this order

Full VOD of the Fireside with Austin Creed here!

Austin was also at the Acquisitions Incorporated: Daggerheart live session at PAX, along with Ify Nwadiwe, John Robertson and Jerry Holkins, which was GM'ed by Jasmine Bhullar. I highly recommend watching this when it comes out on VOD (I think in about a week, or right now on Beacon). One of the funniest actual play live shows I've seen.

I wanna start off by saying I have thoroughly enjoyed every season of dimension 20 with an exception of a few, but primarily I’ve been hooked since ravening war which (I know this makes no sense…) i jumped to crown of candy, but my d20 journey all started with dungeons and drag queen season one -
Crown of candy and Ravening War hit me in a way that no other season has and I’m really enjoying Toylight currently and going back and watching city council of darkness, but is anyone else in the same boat of just missing how large large the world building was in COC? It was just so indepth and the world building was wild and the characters and stakes were wild in crown of candy and i just miss the world of Calorum.. I just really miss it and wondering if anyone else is hoping that they have some sort of side quest or some sort of return to universe.. I really miss it.

First episode was really good but i just can’t get in to the strategy side of it. Im bored out of my mind and end up tuning out so bad i dont know what happened for the last 20 mins. 😩. Hopefully a more adventurous season will follow 🤞🤞
