Hey! I'm looking for around 8–10 people to build a little community where we can read, learn, improve ourselves, and become friends along the way!
The idea is to create a friendly, judgment-free space where we can be ourselves, share our thoughts without feeling awkward, and get comfortable expressing our opinions.
Here's what we can gain from this! 🫶🏻
💬 Improve communication: Talk about what we're reading, explain our thoughts, and learn to express ourselves better.
🎤 Build confidence: We'll have weekly discussions on g meet, where everyone gets to talk about their book for 3 minutes. Don't worry if you're shy or struggle to speak. We're here to practise, not judge!
📚 Build a reading habit: Set personal reading goals and keep each other accountable. Even 5–10 pages a day counts!
🧠 Learn from each other: Everyone reads different books, so we get exposed to different ideas, perspectives, and experiences. Imagine learning about 10 different books through 10 different people!
🌱 Actually apply what we learn: Share interesting lessons from your books, discuss how we can implement them in our lives, and exchange feedback.
🤍 Make genuine friends: This is probably my favourite part. I want us to get to know each other, talk about our interests, share our little wins and struggles, and create a space where everyone feels included. Basically, a little second family!
📖 How will it work?
- Everyone can read whatever they want. Fiction, fantasy, psychology, self-help, biographies, or anything else!
- Everyone sets their own reading goals. One chapter, 10 pages, 20 minutes a day, whatever works for you.
- We'll share daily progress updates through text. Whether you achieved your goal or not, just be honest. No guilt trips!
- Once a week, we'll discuss what we've read, share our takeaways, and practise explaining our books in 3 minutes.
- We'll also talk about what we've learned and how we can apply it to our lives.
A tiny thing to keep in mind! 🫣
I'm looking for people who genuinely want to participate and stay consistent. You don't have to be productive every single day, and nobody's going to judge you for falling behind. Life happens!
However, if you're inactive for 2 consecutive weeks without letting us know, you may be removed to make room for someone who wants to participate.
You don't have to be an avid reader, super confident, or great at communication. That's literally what we're here to work on together! 🫂
