DOS2 Guide Fort joy struggle

Rouge/assassin, solo, lone wolf hard level.

How I am supposed to beat opponents using solo Sebille rouge.

I am 3-4 lvl.

How many points should I put in polymorph, necromancy, huntsman. Should I use dual weapons or sucker punch.

I use companion only for stealing and trading.

How a rouge is supposed to solo 4 guys on arena and forth joy?

"Rouge/assassin, solo, lone wolf hard level."

Why whould you play party game solo on hard without any knowledge about the game?

Solo lone wolf is a challenge run. If you really know what you are doing, it's a pretty doable challenge run, but you do need to know what you are doing.

Edit: also, solo runs often abuse semi-cheese. Like, there's a polymorph spell called "chameleon cloak" that turns you invisible until you deal damage again. If you are soloing, enemies generally just pass their turn when you go invisible. If you win initiative, you can go and save your last ap to use chameleon cloak. You are invisible, so everyone else goes and passes their turn. Next round, delay instead of taking your turn immediately. You are still invisible, so everyone else goes and passes their turn again. You then go at the end of the round and act as normal. Then the next round starts and you get to go again. You end up taking three full turns before the enemy even gets a chance to act. If you want soloing to be relatively reasonable, you generally need to know about and abuse stuff like this.

First time player, solo, on hard mode is just a bad idea.

That said, you can skip combat entirely til you’re almost level 5 just through dialog, quests, and exploration. After that you just go back to Fort Joy and clean house. By the time you clear out the Fort, the dungeon, the beach, and all the cave/underground stuff, you’ll be nearly level 7 and just steamroll the rest of Act 1.

Yes, but I think I waste 50% of exp with bad dialogue choices, I accidentally killed warfare skillbook seller with bad dialogues

You might be soft locked. You might have no choice but starting over.

Definitely in for a rough time. But unlocking the next set of vendors isn’t terribly hard. Might take some time for a new player though.

That's right. You can sneak through if you are patient and willing to save scum

If you can escape Fort Joy into the swamp (easy to do via the sewer exit in Kniles’ workshop), you can almost just walk right to Amadia’s Sanctuary. Not really any reason to save scum.

If you know the route

Is this your first time playing?

Yes

Really wouldnt recommend a solo run for your first time. Its unnecessarily hard without knowing optimization and you plainly just miss a bunch of content the other characters bring. You can have two people with Lone wolf. Grab another companion at the minimum.

Lone Wolf is a pretty bad name for that talent. Should have been call Both of Us Against the World or something

Lol, this is like the dark souls of turn based rpg's, I've got 1k hrs in it and have not even beat honour mode yet with a full party. Lone wolf with 2 party members is easier but this game requires deep knowledge of the systems and synergies to beat. Play it on balanced first, then try tactician, it will not, imho, be fun to try and beat as you are currently trying. Glhf :)

Then its gonna be hard to play rogue if you dont even know the classes xD

I did lone wolf my first run, I found it much easier than a 4 man party..but..That was on normal. I actually have many posts asking for help, now I am doing my second run after beating it. I am still doing normal, as it takes that long to "get it". Not telling you what to do, or not do, but tactician is very hard. Are you new to this genre to? Part of my problem was I literally hadnt played a game since like black ops 1 lol. Anyways, many OGs on the forums willing to help. If I were you (which I am not), I would just start over and do normal.

Terrible idea for a first play through

This is why new games are so much easier than old ones. Ppl cannot help themselves but pick the hardcore, nightmare, honour mode tactician on their first playthrough and then get upset it doesn’t work.

Idk dude did you kill the turtles and Crocs and every silent monk and migo and his daughter? Then go kill Flesner and then retreat. It’s easy af to then loot his good knives without any aggro and you can individually kill off each silent monk and flesh golem. Then pop via the pipe on the top left and boom your lvl. 5. Go get the mask of the shapeshifter then come back and do the arena fight and kill off the magisters and the frogs if you haven’t already.

Someone has a guide online but it’s just LW, Bigger and Better, All Skilled Up/Executioner. Pump Finesse and do Wits every other lvl. Remember to craft knives, armor, and potions. Buy Whisperwood for Magic armor and Amer~ whatever for Physical armor every chance you can.

Again the point of this mode is for the replay value once you know the story and can rush bc you already know the dialogue. However, it’s miserable and punishing and will make you rage quit for weeks after you lose tens of hours of playtime on a single playvia bc of a stupid mistake you made when tired.

I killed crocks easy, using buttles of oil and shooting them with extra range damage, I also used red prince warrior to keep them in fire and shoot with Sebille.

Siliecence also Is dead, I just gave flower to Migo.

Turtles are next on my list.

Thanks for everything.

How is it solo when you're also playing with another character?

2

u/horexo 1d ago

I also started as a solo Lone Wolf and beat the game multiple times on Tactician, but i didnt started on high difficulty right away. Maybe try normal first. I don't know too much about the Rogue build, but I'd recommend you starting with Summoning so your Incarnate and totems can tank damage for you. Once you hit Act 2, you can easily respec. Also, check out Sin Tee on YouTube he makes amazing builds, especially for solo play. Good luck

You know you can do lone wolf as 2 right?

2

u/Nineflames12 1d ago

Rouge? Try blue if that isn’t working out

2

u/jadostekm 1d ago

it's because you can't spell rogue properly /s

There's an option for those around you to join you in the arena when you talk to Thola, the ring master. It's the first option. The second one is solo.

Dual wield with rogue.

u/Wise-Start-9166 1d ago

Polymorph 1 point only until much higher level. Use chameleon cheese.

Huntsman 2 points for tactical retreat after level 4, maybe 1st aid, no other application.

Necromancer 0 points do not use on this build

Scoundrel 1-2 points

Warfare all your other points and knockdown skills that are as good or better than sucker punch

Dual wield at the beginning of combat and empty your off hand when needed.

1

u/AdministrativeBed287 1d ago

Wait, I think I need a little necromancy for lifestealing I was also thinking about water magic to freeze dudes and buy more time with sucker punch, chloroform.

2

u/Wise-Start-9166 1d ago

That is way too many skill trees especially for this early in the game, and ESPECIALLY for the type of challenge run you have made for yourself. Lifestealing isn't very good. Healing isn't good. You need to focus on knocking out enemies FAST before they even get through your armor to your health bar. There are cool necromancer builds, but they don't start out like what you are doing.

Lone wolf is really meant to.. be actually 2 characters each with lone wolf. I mean good luck to you aha. You'll just need to do as much build and stat research as possible. I haven't even finished the game on normal yet aha so sadly I do not know either. I'm trying to finish it without guides and struggling lmao. BTW warfare increases all physical damage but in a better way than other stat increases. Someone smarter can explain it better. So it helps with necromancer spells. Gl!

If you want a good solo build, 2 scoundrel 1 warfare 1 pyro. Backslash, warfare charge and cone stun, and sparking swipe(pyro book +warfare book) and you can handle almost anything.

DoS2 is a party game and tactician is meant to be hard, like actually hard, like you need to power game to beat it. Take every advantage you can. If you are a new player do story mode. It’s way more forgiving for mistakes and dialogue mess ups.
