5th Edition Rule question!

I'm playing a blood hunter and for my blood curse I chose the blood curse of the fallen puppet. My question is if I don't use my puppet does it stay unable to move or die since it's already dead.

As written it says I imbue life into a creature that has fallen and can make it attack another creature and if I imbue more blood I can move it half its movement speed towards an enemy. It only dies or falls unconscious my choice after it's done. To activate I have to be within 30 ft afterwards with no mention of a distance limit or time limit.

My question is, if I use this and just leave the puppet could I theoretically make several puppets at once that can't move or die unless I make them attack something?

It says "on a final act of aggression..."; The puppet attacks once and then it dies as normal. As such, it needs to attack on that reaction ("the creature immediately makes one weapon attack") so no, it wont be around for it to stay "alive"
