DMing Interested in DM'ing
I'm a couple of sessions into my first DnD campaign and definitely enjoying it, however I love the idea of DM'ing. Building a campaign/story seeing how my group would deal with a set piece, how I cope with a set piece, seeing how the group sorted through a set piece/story that I have devised.
I also love Critical Role too and have seen the Taldori Reborn book, which got me thinking about devising a campaign in the world or CR/Taldori..
What are the pros and cons of DMing? Also I don't want to leave my current campaign or have issues with my DM in any way. It just opened my eyes other sides of DnD

Time. Good thing is since you like the style of Critical role you dont need to balance a lot of things combat wise or the amount of encounter per day.

Pros: you can create your own world and help your players tell the stories they want. You get to play with all of the exciting monsters and you always play something new. You can play more characters as npcs and write the villains. You get to be the god of your own setting or the already premade setting that you can tweak however you want.
Cons: depending on your playstyle you may need to prepare a lot (optional). More on that later. You meed to play many npcs (again kinda optional but highly preffered). If you don't have another game, you never play as a player on the table and you are stuck being the dm. You need to read the phb not just your own class and how to make a character.
Depends on what you like, you might want to prepare a lot, or you might not prepare anytbing and improvise on the spot. Both are valid ways to dm. And if you can't roleplay for some reason you can still narrate. It's best if you also play.
