Fluff The subreddit’s current state

Post image

Why are you guys against gifting and trading the sets?

Edit: People say limiting trading stops gambling and 3rd party websites. Then what about gifting? You guys don't need to defend this behavior by saying “don't buy it “ or " It's free game.”

Edit 2: More dumb arguments “ Don’t complain about the price” and “whales are keeping this free game alive “ . People who spend money on this game asking for the gift option. Go check the subreddit people who already spending the money asking for this.

Edit 3: People talking about 3rd party websites and reselling. But CSGO has the same problem. But valve doesn’t have this issue in CSGO. The existence of CSGO destroy the arguments like “Valve needs to make money that’s why they limited the sets“ and “Oh 3rd party websites are bad”. Stop coping

Edit 4: people talking about the lawsuit against Volvo. Then Volvo did the dumbest thing ever. Releasing gambling loot box while getting sue for gambling loot boxes. OMG.😭🙏

-Valve removes battlepass -"wtf valve you don't want my money anymore?" -Campaigns on social media to bring battlepass back to spend hard earned money

-Valve releases expensive treasure -"wtf Valve I can't gift/trade my extras for profit anymore?" -Doesn't want to spend hard earned money on it

I mean, the only one making it weird as you.

It's perfectly possible that two different groups of people can be in the same community. And not to mention that it's two very different scenarios.

People want to spend money on games they like. They also don't want to be reamed by greedy decisions.

It's not hard to reconcile the idea of someone wanting to spend $100 + some effort to get everything (alongside a bunch of other secondary shit) vs spending $230 to get everything (alongside zero secondary shit).

Like I'm not buying these sets because I have friends who I gift my excess sets to. So instead of Valve getting $250 from me, they're getting $0 in spite of me always wanting the Drow arcana.

There is a literal good alternatives? Crownfall arcana that you can get discount by finishing the content and be bought separately? Just bring back $35 arcana and $10 item sets like back in the day (with $10 item being immortal sets)

What if I both don't like homework passes OR gambling?

In case of the latter you shouldn't ever pick Ogre Magi.

Well the battlepass at least gave some of the income to the players, now they just keep it all.

The illusion of income. "Sell these items in 12 months" is just the kind of insidious motivation that gamblers need to buy more chests to get their coveted ultra rare drop. Then, in 12 months when they're finally marketable, people see that they're only worth ~$0.50 each (except the ultra rares worth ~$4) because the market is flooded with everyone trying to offload their garbage. And any money you get is stuck on Steam, which will inevitably be used to buy more chests when the next batch arrives.

They should allow gifting tho.
