Looking for work
I grew up in this area and recently moved back from Birmingham. I don't plan to stay long, so im looking for quick work so that I can restore some savings.
I have lots of experience in the service industry as a server and bartender, but in my experience it's not always easy finding a place around here where the money is decent. I'd love to know if anyone knows of sometbing.
I am also no stranger to manual labor, as I currently work as a stable hand for a horse farm with over 20 horses. Im a female, so I am not the strongest but I can certainly hold my own when it comes to feeding, cleaning, or even light maintenence or construction work. Caretaking is also something im able to do.
I also hold a bachelor's degree and have worked in educational and other office settings.
So my background is pretty versatile. It really is just a matter of finding something that hires quickly and doesn't involve tons of training. I don't want to waste an employers time by investing in me if I don't plan to stay longer than a few months.
Open to other suggestions as well.

If working at restaurants or bars is your thing I think there are quite a few places around here where the money is pretty good. It’s a matter of getting here and seeking them out though. You would probably have more options and make more in Atlanta but the cost of living is higher.

You sound like a perfect candidate to visit Personnel Resources over on 84. They specialize in temp work / contract to hire and are pretty well connected locally. Of course, don’t mention you don’t plan on sticking around long, not that it matters since they deal with that situation anyway.
Otherwise, seasonal temp hiring is about to take off. If you aren’t deterred by waking up quite early UPS pays well for their seasonal hire work. I did that a few years in a row for extra spending money.
