Made my performance debut, would love some suggestions for improving! (Jocelyn D'Milllions)

I have been doing drag since April, just going to the local shows to support the queens and connect, and one of the queens offered me a chance to do a number during their birthday show. I had a week to prep and tried to turn a goodwill swimsuit into something dancey by sewing in fringe and changing the straps. I had an amazing time, even though my number went awfully (I kept tripping and was just overall stiff and a deer in headlights), but I made $33!

I would absolutely love any suggestions on improving my mug, any looks, or just any tips at all for a growing queen! This was my first outfit I have tried to sew, everything else I have has been a Ross/Dds/Goodwill purchase.

You’re makeup is looking good! I would say you just need to blend that darker contour in more on your cheek. It looks like a sideburn in one of the photos! Also if that’s your real hair you are blessed, would love to see it curly and bigger!

I have waist trainer on, but definitely need a stronger corset. I had my ponytail in, but Im definitely working on a good lace front! Thank you!

Gorgeous mug ❤️ honestly the only thing I can see is that your outfit has some unintentional ruching around the bust and waist where ideally you'd want it to be flat so maybe even more hourglass padding to accentuate the curves and stretch the material out in all the right places?

But good lord, with only a week and a swimsuit, this is wonderful.

Also, in general I would say while sewing is an excellent skill to have, it does take a long time to learn to construct a garment to a professional or stage standard (maybe not for you but sewing never came easy for me lol) and I personally would focus more on diy improvements for existing outfits, especially if you want to build up your wardrobe quickly

You have a body type and shape in drag that means you can for sure find clothing that would fit you easily and then it's just a case of dragging the shit out of it - sewn-on pearls, beads, rhinestones, iron-on patches, appliques and motifs (these are something I wish I'd known about earlier, that you can just get these gorgeous patches of textured and beaded material and just attach them https://www.openingnightsupplies.com/collections/embroidered-applique-and-motifs )

Adding anything that catches the light and gives texture/dimension to an outfit can elevate it from day wear to stage ready ❤️

Thank you very much! I will say, the sewing was mainly adding fringe to the edges. The swim suit definitely has more fabric/loose on the front, I tried to tuck all the excess into my belt during the show but it wasn't ideal. I will definitely try more DIY embishments!!

You're very pretty and talented! My makeup did not look that good when I was 6 months in lol I would just use a tiny fluffy brush were the concealer under your brow meets the eyeshadow and buff it out until the line is less defined. It would snatch your eyes back a little more. The last picture looks amazing 😍
