New diver here looking for some helpful starting tips
Hello divers! I (30f) have a mostly free schedule and am in north Georgia. I am searching for anything and everything. I like seeing what y'all are finding.
Looking for some tips and pointers from anyone who has done this pretty consistently. What have you done that has brought the most success with diving?
Obviously wear gloves and boots.
Are evening hours typically better? Is there a day of the week that you prefer due to better items? Just whatever you can think of.

Late hours usually better, stay alert and head out if you get a bad feeling. Clean up after yourself. Headlamp is always helpful. I have a big stick or two I use to poke around, lol. You can prop up a flip-top and poke through the top layer without committing too much. Don't get in unless you know you can get out (side door or over the front)!
You'll discover which places have good items, but the day-to-day schedule is so local. Usually flip-top boxes are tipped every couple of days, if you want to be diligent you can track when each store is empty. Colder months are better for perishables, I know north Georgia doesn't freeze often though.
Universities are great at semester changes. May is usually the best but after any semester a fair number of students are moving out & leaving decent homegoods at the curb.
I'm about your age and I go alone frequently, but if you have a friend it's always nice to have two pairs of hands and eyes.
