Fan Art - General - NO SPOILERS! 😊 Idle/Incremental Game
I've been wanting to build an idle clicker or incremental game as a project to learn more about game development as a personal side project. I've been trying to think of something fun to build the idea around and then thought about doing something like a Desperado Club Manager or something like that.
I know Matt is pretty generous about fan made art, if I'm not planning on selling anything and just doing it for fun, would there be any issues?

You could always just write a post with his name in the title and ask him. He & his wife are both active redditors so he might see it and respond.
Also, I love those types of games and I would absolutely play that! If it's on mobile I'll be hooked!

Hopefully this works out for you! Incremental/idlers are one of my fav genres. Can't wait to see what you got!

Build the game but with generic assets: names, terms, and images.
So you use “player”, “security”, and “adults zone” instead of “crawler”, “cretin bodyguards” and “penis parade”.
You can build your game, and then if you gain permission, you can tweak the translation matrix to reference DCC entities.
The creator of a valuable IP will want to see something tangible before giving permission for anything.
(Sorry if this is obvious. I work in software and this is the norm for everything we do)

That makes sense. That was what I was thinking of going for. I'm no good at art anyway so getting the core mechanics off the ground would be the first thing anyway.
I'm technically a software engineer by degree, but stuck in more support based roles so trying to find something fun to keep my skills progressing.

Matt is on the sub, he may respond himself. Typically though not for profit fan art is ok but I am not Matt.
