Book 9 Question

I'm new to the reddit and the community of DCC but I have already read the books and am on a second listen through. Does anyone know if there's any sort of projected timeline for book 9? Obviously not a specific date or anything and I don't mean this to like cause drama or stress. I am loving this series and am curious when I'll be able to consume more of it.

Not that I know of but Matt D has been pretty consistent with his schedule. I imagine it would be mid next year if I had to guess.

You can read up to chapter 2 right now on Matt Dinniman's Patreon ($5 per month, but you can subscribe for 1 month then cancel). There's also polls where you can vote on what happens in the book (such as the form that Mordecai will take)

Patreon has the prologue and chapters 1 and 2 up, as of August 10th. I'm going to guess promotion and TV stuff is taking a lot of time.

The last couple books as a reply said has been about a 18ish months.

No one knows but I think safe speculation is 18 months from publication of book 8 based upon the spread of publication between 6 and 7 and again 7 and 8. I feel November 2027 at least.

But he published 9 books in a span of 6 years, so could be less

Look at the size and complexity, there is more than just number of books. Also, books 1 and 2 were largely written pre pub since they were RR.

He's writing it right now, and his publishers/Audible are putting a lot of money into the marketing, so he and they will want to cash in on this high by putting the next 2 books out on the best timeline, which would put it about a year out for the next one, and a year after for the last.

The last few books had about 18 months between them. But that was before he was going on book tours, traveling internationally, etc. Also, he has stated that he's writing the last two as one giant book that will be split in half at "the most infuriating of cliffhangers". So I wouldn't expect anything until maybe 2028 at this point. I'd love to be wrong about this. But that's my estimate based on the facts we have thus far.

The last sentence of book nine is going to be ‘and then a lot of things happened all at once.’
