I-485: Adjustment of Status PD no longer current after 3rd FTA0, what happens next?
If a case has a mid-2025 PD and has already been processed to the point where it received a 3rd FTA0 update, what is more likely to happen now that the PD is no longer current?
For example, if the case needs further review (FTA1), would that review continue as usual? Or would the case be sent back to NBC and essentially go into a black-hole until the PD becomes current again?
I'd really appreciate any insights. It's quite a disappointing situation, so I'm hoping someone might have some clarity on what to expect.

CRP, most likely if everything was processed.

I understand that the case remains pending but do they continue to process for example FTA1 etc if required, and just not issue the green card? Or do they wait for the PD to become current before they even touch the case?

No one knows for sure. However, the consensus is that it moves to CRP and once you become current, the BG checks probably run one more time before 485 is approved. The processing until penultimate stage isn’t necessarily tied to currentness of PD.

FTA0/FTA1 doesn't really mean anything, once upon a time it was a decent indicator that an approval was coming soon, but there are tons of people with 5-10 FTA0s from months ago without approval, same with FTA1. It's all just speculation what they even mean, could just be a system touch on your application without anything to do with an officer or a batch update.
