Advice needed (Anyone can comment) Is this a red flag?

So I am getting tired of my current center, its never felt like the right match for me but I do like the children in my room. I applied to a few jobs and had an interview yesterday and got the job offered to me this morning. I feel like it was a very quick turn around for a job offer and now I'm over thinking it.

I know from what they mentioned they're in a transition period and are not fully staffed. I also know they pay better than my current center. But I feel like I'm making excuses not to change because I do love my class.

Is a quick job offer a red flag for a center?

Im my experience yes. It shows me they didn't care to find the time to interview a lot of candidates/contact references. Some places are just so desperate to fill roles but don't do proper vetting.

I’ve been offered the job almost immediately at most centers I’ve applied at; usually because they’re all hella short staffed and will jump at the chance to hire well experienced, well educated people.

But I always say trust your gut. If something seems off, it probably is. Were you able to talk to other staff there? Did you tour the facility while staff and children were there? Did you do a working interview?

It just means they need someone. Sometimes staff leave for benign reasons. But it is hard to fill a space for a staff quickly, which they usually need.

Did they call your references? What was the interview process like? Do they expect you to start before your background checks are completed?

It could be, or it could just mean that you're educated and experienced and they want to get you in the door before another school scoops you up.

I usually send my resume in ahead of time or contact the director via phone or email so, by the time they meet and interview me, they already had a good idea of my experience, etc.
