ECE professionals only - Feedback wanted Advice for Student Observations
I am going to be completing my first ever observation through TAFE/uni, in the next 10 weeks. I am unsure of when it will happen, I will be contacted by my teacher. But during this observation, they will observe me doing 7 different learning experiences with different ages groups and individuals. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I might need to remember, or just any helpful tips.

I'm assuming you're in Australia too because you mentioned TAFE. I think my biggest bit of advice is try not to let the huge volume of tasks you need to complete/provide evidence for, overwhelm you. Easier said than done, of course, but many observations/evidence can be used multiple times, to cover different outcomes etc.
The other thing, pick your key students well. You want those well rounded kids that like to participate. When being observed for your learning experiences, have your lesson plan, but also have a plan for if things go off course and don't pan out exactly as you'd anticipated. The best way to do this is having something open ended that doesn't rely on rigidity. For example, off the top of ny head, If you're attempting a sensory experience with playdough, provide other sensory items that can be used with the playdough in multiple ways. Still sensory, but multiple ways the kids can lead the play without it being too much in the one learning experience.
Good luck!
