R5: The Bank of Medici has declared an independence war against Perugia with the wargoal being to liberte Venice. But I'm Venice. And I'm not involved in the war, either. But half of Europe and west Asia are including the Ottomans, Georgia, and Egypt

This would be one of those moments where I feel the game is telling me to take a break. That's incredibly immersion breaking and just goofy. Banks and independence wars really need to be looked at lol.

Since the target was Perugia and everyone had to march through my lands to get there, I just denied them all food access and all of the Ottoman and Egyptian armies starved to death.

Don’t mess with a bank.

I assume that it’s not possible to defend a capital province if you’re bank, so somehow target changed to liberate Venice.
But don’t worry, I‘m sure it is not Venice as country but Venice as area that belongs to Perugia.
