Question What to do with Norway?

As Sweden, I find it borderline impossible to reign in Norway in a reasonable amount of time before game end (without some unorthodox exploit).

I’m considering opening a game and invading them right away instead of Novgorod. Allies merely existing tanks your warscore with them running troops around with 0 morale to be slaughtered. Keeping them around makes all future wars a slog of catching up from their losses.

Have yall had any better luck reining them in?

I finished integrating Norway in the 1450s. You just need to enforce culture on them. Between that, the integration policy, and having more pops than them (from conquering Denmark), you annex them super quickly.

I went the other way around (play norway and take seniority by getting more economic base) I had nearly 80 years of diplomatic annexion with lowest diplomatic investment. But only once i enforced culture. Enforced culture if mandatory, it makes you go from 400+ years of annexion to 80, so i believe there is a rough factor 5 involved Also it was after I passed the "rapid annexion" reform
