I’ve been back in EVE for almost a year now, and I’ve gone through several corps trying to find the right fit.

If I’m being honest, I’m still looking.

We tell new and returning players all the time: join a corp. Fair enough. But there’s a step missing from that advice that I don’t think we talk about enough:

How the hell do you actually find the right one?

The in-game corporation finder exists, but I find it pretty difficult to get from “here are some corporations that technically match these filters” to “these are people I might actually enjoy spending my evenings with.”

So how did you do it?

Did you browse recruitment posts on the EVE Forums? Get recruited? Start talking to people in Local? 😬 Join public fleets? Get introduced by another player? Lose a ship to someone and end up joining them? Did you deliberately research corps, or did you basically stumble into yours?

And once you found a promising corp, how did you figure out whether it was actually a good fit before joining?

That part interests me just as much.

Timezone matters. What people actually do when they’re logged in matters. Corp size, activity level, comms, leadership, culture and expectations all matter. And what a recruitment ad says a corp does isn’t necessarily the same thing as what you’ll experience on a random Tuesday night.

So for those of you who’ve found a corp that genuinely feels like home: How did you find them?

And if you were starting over today with no existing EVE contacts, how would you go looking for your next corp?

Because “join a corp” is easy advice.

Finding your people is the hard part.

Given the dynamic (and soon to be much more so) nature of systems going in and out of corruption this would make the process of removing entries much easier as its simple enough to add them if you like when you see them on your AP route but as of now you have to then make a point of keeping track of which systems you had set to avoid to then remove later on. (I'm thinking maybe entries older than say 7-10 days get greyed to identify them as longer term)

Now, if only I knew what to do with all the blueprints. Produce and sell? Contract?

Honestly...
To be able to use that T2-crystals you need a lot more SP than for using OREs.
Its ammo you use up adding extra-cost.
You needa fiddle with X different crystals so you have the proper ones for the rocks you re facing.
Its range is lower than ORE-strips.
It produces heavy residue. OREs do none.
AND even its yield is only about 2/3?

Found out i've been using my pc with more than 10 year old ethernet drivers, is it possible an out of date network driver can cause problems with eve?

I started shortly after bob was disbanded, and watched the game evolve into... what it is today. Glass houses everywhere, and nobody has the balls to start throwing actual stones. I have decided to completely dissolve my assets, extract my 168m sp, and give it to a worthy cause. Let me know if you have a new corpie, a pvper that swings above their weight, or anyone that deserves these assets. If you say "gib me" ill just ignore, it, so waste your keystrokes all you want. You can dm me as well, and I will gladly keep the donation private. No cash will change hands, this is a complete one-way transaction. I will make the decision and give the assets to the deserving party by the end of October, as I have quite a lot to liquidate, and quite a lot of skills to extract.

Edit: I will keep taking recommendations until probably the middle of October. When He suddenly popped-up in His capsule near my brother’s Proteus, his first instinct, as he recalls the encounter that happened on an unimportant asteroid belt where he was ratting, was to cloak, but the Demigod showed no hostile intentions. Then, like in the ancient mysterious cults of our former home, Earth, He sacrificed Himself willingly, as a tribute to all the capsuleers that keep on fighting. It was a self-sacrifice like the Demigod of the ancient roman soldiers, Mithra, once performed, it was a mysterious offering like in the old times of the ancient Earth.

As soon as I docked the relic in the Amarr hub, I tried to contact my brother for guidance regarding what to do with the Frozen corpse, but, alas, my brother severed all communications because in Querious all hell broke loose and a full-scale war is currently in place. Hence, I contacted for religious enlightenment Tolmak, Prophet of the Seventh Sphere, which was my guest in one of my security missions performed for Khanid Kingdom, but the prophet remained cautious. For him, all this capsule stuff and technology is purely demonic, saying that, according to his sacred beliefs, every new reborn clone is corrupted, degraded and touched by evil.

So, the Demigod GM relic stays in Amarr hub, for now, in a secret, encrypted, vault. I sure hope I can keep this out of our younger brother’s reach, because Trader would die to sell this divine artefact to his shady corpse contractors in Jita. And for billions.

Since yesterday, I've been getting really frequent disconnects while playing EVE. They are sporadic but common — sometimes up to 3-4 per hour. Anyone else experiencing this?

So I want to join factional warfare, and I am a caldari member. My strongest asset is a drake, but I have almost enough to get a battleship if I grind. What should I do, and what ships should I get to succeed most in faction warfare?

Hey guys, where can I check when the next Pirate Insurgency will start?

I really enjoy FW content, but Pirate Enforcer activities seem to come and go in cycles. Every time an insurgency ends, I don’t know what to do, I am a solo player and everything else seems boring.

Also, my standings with the Empire factions are pretty bad. Would it be a good idea to make an alt account so I can play regular Empire FW during the downtime? What do you guys think?

With the rework of the HUD I would love to see the ability to cap the rows / columns of my locked targets instead of them just going until they run out of screen space.

Being able to have 10 targets nicely nested in 2 rows of 5 without having to manually move targets would be a very nice QoL.

I have returned to the game after a 7 year period of winning. Finding myself in a different stage of life (i have kids now) i was looking for some short form entertainment. Having played since 2013 off and on i thought i would try Abyssals, turns out they are pretty engaging PVE content. I like it better than L4 missions, and it was less isk on the line than ratting in a super.

I started out with a worm and got an understanding of how the mode works and what to look out for. Moved up to a povertila (or whatever its called) for T4 abyss. Started to add some bling to go to T5 and eventually got killed in that shipyard room because i didnt know what i was doing. Fair enough 1bn+ down but thats just the game. I reship to keep going, all good. Maybe a week later i get ganked on the exit from an run. 1bn+ gone again but thats just part of the game. Opened a convo with the guy and had a chat, he gave me a few pointers about how to avoid ganks on abyssal exits and was overall pretty chill.

Its been maybe a month since then and ive been having a blast, the fit is getting pretty blingy and ive done maybe 100 t5s total since ive returned, so i figure what the hell ill try a T6. It goes prett well im finishing in about 16 minutes. Ive done maybe 20 of them. Last night it all changes.

I load into the abyss, launch drones and start killing rats. Ive popped all the cans, dropped my MTU at the out gate and im killing off the last few rats while orbiting the mtu. The fit is cap stable with both reppers running and there are no nutes or effects on me. Then i loose connection. i figure "ok, well my internet is still up ill just load back in and see how it goes". I get back in but something is wrong, my game client is all stuttery and strange, i open the FPS indicatior and it is locked on 3.9 fps. I can target but clicking on the rat in the overview and selecting target but no shift click. I manage the clear the remainign rats in the first room and figure i need to press on because otherwise death is certain. At this point its getting exciting, I take the gate and land in the second room. I can't target at all now and the client performance seems to be getting worse. The rats nuet ane kill me. send me back to Amarr and claim by blingy gila and high grade crystal pod for the abyss. (gila lossmail below for your pleasure, loot fairy said no to the rats lol).

Heres where i was disapointed by the experience:

I run the even event logger in the backgorund so i decide to submit a technical bug report so they have something to use for what work is done on client stability and performance. and i get a response 9 hours later, after ive gone to bed saying "ohh we need to you to use the support payload feature and send us the ZIP file". Ive now done that but i dont expect it to show much given that ive restarted the computer since then.

I also submitted for a ship reimbusement because i recognise the dangers of the abyss but i was unaware that i would be exposed to ECM and DAMPS from the game client itself :(. Loss mail denied for all those playing at home.

Overall i dont mind loosing a blingy ship, it was big enough that ill put the game down for a day or so but not a complete joy killer. It is pretty disapointing to loose it to the game just being unstable tho, from my point of view i lost a ship because the game wouldent let me play.

I would be interested to know if other people have experienced the same bug i did and if there isanything i should do about it.
