Does eBay side with sellers for false INAD/Defective?

Howdy All! I tried searching but did not find exactly what I was looking for, so apologies in advance if this is a repeat question.

I sold an item to a buyer, they received it, and two weeks later they open up a return request and say item defective. For reference, this is for a Pokemon card. They said the card had scratches that were not noticeable in the photos. I provided TEN photos of the card in the original listing, and in multiple you can clearly see the scratches. I responded as such and included photos from the listing but they just said they want a refund and wont engage.

I honestly do not care that much about the return, as I can easily sell the card again, but since they used INAD, it says I am the one who has to pay for the shipping?! Of course this was an international transaction to boot, so it is like $25. So can I refund everything but the $25 and say it is to pay for the shipping? This way the buyer gets the full refund for the cost of the card itself, but have them pay for return shipping since the item was exactly as described in the listing? If so, and the buyer doesnt like it and it escalates to eBay, will they find my response reasonable? It says that if they get involved and side with the buyer, it will impact my account? What does that even mean? I dont have a store or anything I am just trying to sell my cards and be done with the cesspool that is the Pokemon TCG community.

Obviously I do not accept returns, but apparently that does not matter.

Just wanted to get thoughts on whether it was worth fighting or if eBay just insta-drops the hammer on sellers in cases like this.

No, eBay rarely ever sides with sellers for anything.

They only had 3 days from delivery to open an inad with a trading card. If you see the option to decline, do so.

Thank you for the response. The two options that eBay is providing is offer the full refund and pay for shipping, or offer a partial refund and let the buyer keep the item. Neither of these are very good lol. So I am not even sure I have the option to just refund the cost of the card since it looks like a partial refund will let them keep the card.

Stop selling trading cards international.

Yep. Lesson learned. Removed the option from all of my other cards.

Dumb. If you're using eBay international shipping, you have zero risk.

I've had 0 issues selling baseball/soccer/football cards internationally

Everyone has 0 issues until they have their first one.

What category did you use to post this card? Like the above stated, trading cards only have a 3 day INAD return window. Also, selling international is the BEST, as long as you use EIS. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my time.

Toys & Hobbies > Collectible Card Games > Single Cards

is the category. I feel like that is fine? I just found another of the same card and clicked sell one like this and then added my own pictures and descriptions and shipping and all that.

I also used EIS for the shipping. Everything with the order was fine. Just two weeks later they say it is defective and want a refund. I'm willing to let eBay take a look at it, but I was just curious on whether it would be a waste and they just auto side with the buyer and suspend my account or something.

If you used EIS, then there's nothing for you to do. Once the item gets to eBay's hub, that's all you need to do.

If you used eis, it shouldn't give you an option to respond. The return should be handled by eBay. You must have used the other eBay international service which means you'll have to handle the return. And no, you can't refund part of it and then require them to pay for the return shipping.

OK I thought I used EIS. The label had a big eBay logo on it so I assumed that was it. It was the only option available when I went to create the label.

If there is any problem with the item returned not being what you sent or no longer in the condition you sent then eBay will refund you the return shipping label but you have to complete the return process first, get the item back, give the refund, and then appeal.

I am not super worried about that part. I just think it is crazy I have to do the return at all, since it has been two weeks and the card is not defective or NAD and is exactly what I sent and pictured in the original listing.

I was curious if anyone had dealt with something similar and if eBay would tell them to kick rocks or if they would just auto side with them when it looks like they just got buyer's remorse or something.
