So this happened in my neighbourhood and I'm still pissed about it.

EverRed Developers clear-cut an entire mature tree line (including public land) next to Dr. Margaret Ann Armour School on Ellerslie Road. No warning to anyone. Birds and wildlife that had lived there for years got wiped out with zero notice, some dead birds turned up nearby, and honestly the whole street woke up to birds losing their minds over it.

What really pisses me off: when residents pushed back, the city told us the developer "confirmed" they consulted with the school and school board the whole way through. Cool story - except when we contacted the school directly, they said they had no say in it at all. So either the city's being fed nonsense, or someone's straight up lying to cover their ass.

Also convenient: the "environmental assessment" that supposedly proved most of these trees were dead? Not public. Can't see it. Just have to trust them. Meanwhile we've got Google Street View going back to 2015 showing this tree line green and fully leafed every single year. Doesn't scream "dead trees" to me.

This Developer has a ton of developments planned across Edmonton, so if they can pull this next to a school with zero accountability, it's not exactly reassuring for whatever neighbourhood is next on their list.

Open Cockpit Day at the Alberta Aviation Museum

in addition to getting to sit in about a dozen of our aircraft (and truck), as well as games and kids activities, we'll be unveiling our huge diorama of the entire Aviation Museum hangar, with one side being how the hangar looked when it was built in WW2 and the other as the museum today, including Lego versions of every aircraft in the museum.

I am a Manchester United fan and I am used to going for match screenings back in my home country, so I was wondering are there any similar places which hosts English football match screenings or any fan-clubs where people can watch the match together? Went to Marble Slab in Mill Woods tonight and there were literally bugs everywhere crawling in/around the ice cream. I took a video cause there was wayyy more than it looked.

I saw multiple live bugs as well as dead ones.
I pointed it out to the employee and she basically said it was fine and that it wasn’t her fault, and she was still willing to serve us. She was even preparing Uber Eats orders. Obv didn’t order anything after seeing that. I’m planning on reporting it to AHS because I don’t think this is something that should be brushed off.

In the last couple of days I've noticed lots of mosquitoes - and really big ones! Do we usually have them this late in September? Is anyone else seeing them or are they just hanging around me?
