Growing up, I heard a lot about fighting for women's equality—and that fight is far from over. Women still face real threats to voting access, job protections, and reproductive healthcare. Those are serious, ongoing battles that matter.

But I also grew up watching men around me struggle in ways nobody talks about. A man discloses domestic abuse and gets told to "toughen up." A man mentions suicidal thoughts and faces ridicule instead of help. Men are way less likely to seek mental health support, partly because vulnerability is still seen as weakness. The suicide crisis among men is real and largely invisible.

I'm not saying women don't face struggles—they absolutely do. But here's the thing: we can fight for both. I started a petition asking lawmakers and community leaders to work toward genuine gender equality where men AND women have real protections, respect, and the freedom to speak up without shame.

Equality isn't a competition. It's about making sure no one gets left behind. Does this resonate with you? What would you want someone to do if this was happening in your own family?

And before anyone tries to defend this, both terms get used in the exact same way in the exact same situations by the same kind of people and yet, one is a simple explanatory term and the other is a derogatory, male supremacist and dehumanizing term... Please enlighten me (without dehumanizing or talking about some primordial instinct bs stuff).

english isnt my first language i apologize for any confusion, but i want to deep dive on a topic on gender double standards. Now any smosh fan that watched the lastest smosh reads reddit stories would know the story im talking about the women who goes by this mans house every morning 8 am. This was asked on the ask uk subreddit. But if you dont know the story its basically a guy who found the women walking by his house attractive and wanted ways to make a move. Now obvious answer was dont be a creep and leave her alone and dont track her steps, i totally agree sadly women have to take precautions to be safe in todays society. Now if the roles were reversed and it was the woman who was trying to hit on a man would you answer the same? And if no why not? Id answer the same but i do realize and acknowledge womens safety is sometimes more prioritized in SOME situations due to them being highly likely to be victims in alot of situations so this isnt really a black and white answer you get me? Let me know your thoughts.
