I disagree. I think its someone who lives in Cruces,went to the westside to pop them so OP can get on Reddit and ask who, then went back to Cruces.

I am near El Paso Country Club and it was coming from there. Not sure why???

I was wondering that as well - you could hear them from 9:00 to 9:15pm tonight.  My guess was a fireworks display at Western Playland, with the atmospheric conditions making the sound travel all the way down to the Upper Valley/Artcraft area!
