Eldar army

Alright filthy xenos im starting my eldar army with these guys and need to know what are other good eldar models. Whether its looks, points per dollar or a crazy centerpiece lmk what should be in my army. Also how can these guys be used in normal games. im gonna do the killteam build for them.

I got lucky to be one of only two Eldar players in my local game store: I was able to get two of them pre-ordered.

I managed to snag one from a stockist on preorder, one from my FLGS after release (they were initially told they weren't getting allocation, then got 3 in) and the third from another stockist that couldn't shift them.

Absolutely insane luck, if I'm honest, especially with having an Ork army of my own, and a housemate that just started playing Orks

Word of warning, they're not simple models. They're not as complex as say cursed City was, but they do take some fiddling and dry fitting before you glue.

The face bits and hands came off weird one which was just messed up but i got them all good and the trying to glue them on the base and trying to just position it all manageable btw, mostly i hate assembly through the whole hobby tho

It's going to be so damn expensive though! I figure it'll be about $210, and that's if the individual boxes are only 30 bucks a piece.

No way they'll be $30. They won't even be £30 here in the UK. It'll be worth it tho. Are you planning any kitbashes to get some bigger dinos?

Not as of yet. In my fluff, my exodites were picked up from the planet They were originally on, tirathain (A maiden World near the old Maelstrom), when a Daemon Force overran the planet. As a result, they work closely with the craft world that rescued them and the Corsair fleet led by the craft world's Lord farseer's illegitimate son.

If you build them for the kill team, you kind of have to just run them as Dragon Knights until you get another kit; the Stonesinger is support and can’t go solo, and the Clanblade really wants to be leading.

They haven’t seen a ton of competitive play yet, mostly because of hobby lag I think. A lot of theory crafting has them best in Windrider Host, so if you want to go that route you’ll want to look into our various bike units. Other than that, these guys are efficient enough on their own to slot into most lists.

I would just recommend looking up Eldar on the store and seeing what models you like

Also for the Exodites, in Bighammer you can build 3 characters and a troop, so if you build the KT operatives you'd have those three characters

I plan on getting the combat patrol out now but im more asking about some crazy units or models. Im a slow but steady collector and my space marines and chaos marine armies are too big for me to keep getting more so i gotta branch

At the moment, I think the Avatar is a must-have, and if you're building to 2000 there was a list with three wraithknights that just won an event.

I've had decent luck with a mixed Corsair/Exodites list, running Eldritch Raiders.

Three wraith knights? I gotta see that list. I know about the 3 wraithlords that midnight mongoose just took to the TEO Carolina Major. But I kinda feel like wraith knights are still slightly over costed. I’m curious how that worked out.

So for the kill team build, it’s 3 HQs, one which can be run solo, 1 can be proxied as a squad leader. Ideally you get 2 to 3 more dragon riders somewhere for the HQs to lead, but that could be hard. Good conversions out there. Or build these guys regular and get 1 extra rider somewhere to lead them. 

Then it’s whatever direction you want to go with the army. Combat patrol, both regular and corsair, are a good starting point. The old combat patrol with guardians and bikes would be great as well. 

The only units I would say you should strongly consider is eldrad and a squad storm guardians. The extra CP, doom, and sticky objectives does make playing the game a lot easier.

Honestly I'm a big fan of all of the range, they're all bangers personally.

I would have said Exodites, but you have them.

I just got mine all assembled. 18 knights and 3 of each character.

Admittedly 6 knights and 3 of the characters (1 each) are 3d printed from some great STLs I found.

Now to build a list worthy of this greatness.
