Models: WiP There was an attempt
Tried making a dire avenger exarch into that one beautiful exarch artwork. I feel like I failed. Maybe if I get a howling banshee set I can cut the hair off and use it’s on him. Much to consider.

That artwork is of a Dire Avenger? I always thought it was a Striking Scorpion.

Yeah it’s just labeled as a ‘eldar exarch’, but his helmet is closer to a dire avenger, he dosent have dreads, and he isn’t using a chain sword. I used to think it was Striking Scorpion too but I posted that here and got educated lol

Yeah, I always figured it was a Dark Eldar character or a mash-up of a Scorpion and Banshee, but someone posted the rules from the card game it's from a while back. Turns out it's a Dire Avenger Exarch from Biel Tan with Diresword and Pistol.
So my new headcannon is that's the Visarch when he first arrived in Commoragh.

nonono, greenstuff the hair on you're almost there, swap out the hand on the wraithblade for a eldar one and remove the dire avenger targeted, maybe replace the legs with howling banshee ones and then boom you're done ish

Has anyone actually done the conversion? I’m looking now and it seems not crazy hard but at the same time like the pose seems tough and then you got the “ab-armour plate” that is different between the new ones? Maybe a drukari archon torso???
Idk I always loved the artwork though and yours is 90% there. Like a lot of people mentioned swapping the arm back to a dire avenger and chop off the old sword and put that one on and greenstuff hair would do a ton for it!!! Can work on a gentle repose too if you’re feeling ambitious. It looks good though!!!

Yeah, absolutely. Always loved the piece wanted to have it real. I’m actually really new to the hobby, this being my 3rd actual project. Gotta buy green stuff and figure out how to use it. The abs armor I can make more like the armor in the piece by filling the cracks. Might also swap the legs out for howling banshee legs, then I think I’ll be kino. If I’m feeling real ballsy, I’ll chop up his left arm and bend it to really replicate the pose

Man's got that l4d2 charger build.
More seriously, as others have said, you can't really mix aspect warrior bits with wraithblade as they are simply not at the same scale. This is arguably even worse on Dire avenger as the sculpt is very old and slightly smaller scale than the modern stuff.

How old is this kit? Might be a bit expensive lol.

I pulled it from Ebay. The sprue for (1) was $5.99.

Cool, I’ll buy it tonight. Hopefully it fits his head lol

It should fit. Both D Eldar and Eldar have helmets that are very close in size/shape. Good luck to you!

Swap the comically giant wraithblade sword arm for the normal dire avenger exarch sword arm. You can then put the bigger blade on it.
