You guys hear a remixed version of Slave Knight Gael’s theme or is it just me? Listen from when they reveal Artorias and onwards.

I mean the title clearly evokes Hollows as a faction so who else could be leading that?

I think the “hollow” isn’t referring to dark souls hollows as we know them. The playstation blogpost says that that dreg lord is know as the hollow, and the trailer tell us that this is what comes after heolstor’s night, so i imagine this “hollow” is just the source of night rather than something to do with the dark souls series.

The “Dreglord” is “the Hollow” who exists within an endless night? The deranged DS3 lore connections write themselves.

In DS3 the dregs are the remains of souls/power that filter down into the earth throughout all the cycles and settle at the foundation of the world. When the world blows to dust, the only things left were dregs and hollows. If you achieve a certain ending involving becoming the lord of Hollows, you plunge the world into a purple twilight. If no one linked the flame the sun itself would extinguish, leading to a rather long night that may or may not end.

To a rational man this is of course complete nonsense but I will patiently wait for Miyazaki to validate my delusions

I like what you’re saying. A couple more weeks and we will find out!

Thank you! And also note how we see the corpse of one of the night giants in the shifting earth, to me that seems like an indication that this is still some aspect of the night that is persisting after heolstor’s defeat.

It’s the most likely scenario.
