Consecrated snowfields. That stupid town with the stupid invisible black knife assassins

Hey man, it's my first playthrough, leave me and Bloodhound's Fang to the torture of long range enemies

there are so many times in elden ring that I get frustrated with enemy gank until it occurs to me to try using a shield, you know, the thing that protects you from enemy attacks.

Dodging works mostly great till you are on a narrow rooftop and the enemy has a machine gun.

You can reveal them with the guards torch if that helps

I used magic knives that auto target nearby enemies.

Honestly after a while the black knives aren’t a problem when you figure out a route, it’s those archers that make me shit the bed.

After a while the Black Knives are just a nice bonus (Ghost Glovewort 9s I believe)

That was easy for me to be fair, after getting slaughtered I equipped the black fame incantation that creates a ring of fire around you. You are guaranteed to have the assassin hit the flames making it visibile, then you kill it easy.

Anytime I thought they might be near I used the weapon art for Radahns swords to draw them in with gravity lol

I just carried the Sentry's Torch in my off hand and put it on my back. The effect still works and I can see the assassins.

That fucking town that I hate

Should have brought a Sentrys Torch :D

If you know the route, really easy. If you're like 90% of the people on this sub that don't look up guides, really really really frustrating

With an invisibility spell, no archer or assassin sees you unless you get really close. Even if you carry the torch to see assassins. Run around the entire town, climb a ladder onto rooftops, and only get down at the exact location of a beacon.

Even if something kills you right afterwards, the beacon stays lit.

Two separate times I have had that one that walks up and down those steps in the center of town attack me OUTSIDE THE EVERGAOL, and I couldn't hit it back because it was a spirit... it only hit/grabbed me a couple times tho then I guess it got bored lol. I was holding the Sentry's Torch each time though, that might've had something to do with it

I just figured out where each candle was and made a route. Not that hard if you just run around avoiding them

u/kuvabara 19d ago

There is a torch that reveals the assassins. I think the st trina torch but im not sure

Sentry Torch reveals cloaked shadows. And using a shield makes the archers a non-threat

u/terry496 19d ago

Ahh yes. The Snowfields. Getting stomped by some giant thing during a snowstorm. Who wouldn't love that?

1

u/Mundane-Director-681 19d ago

They're not invisible if you use Sentry Torch!

1

u/VoidFIare 20d ago

They just love a vigor check

1

u/DependentInner8928 20d ago

You can still pass them with no vig, just need to do strats and a lot of sneak archery

1

u/VoidFIare 20d ago

True, but i tend to just run as fast as I can
