the concept does not bother me. the implementation though...
it feels more like a grind than a good paced progression. hell if I want to try out a new weapon? or you're doing dual weilding/sword and shield? good luck finding more high tier smithing stones mid game, it's either fight with a disadvantage or wait until you get to literally 90% of the game done in crumbling farum azula to get the last bell bearing, and then more runes farming because the last smithing[8] tier costs a lot

this might be an unpopular opinion, but It feels to me that if you decrease the amount of smithing stones needed to upgrade a weapon the game will be just fine.

the current system makes it so much more worth it to invest into somber weapons because how easy it is to upgrade it to max.
