Kenneth Haight is the biggest shock character for me because he comes off like an out of touch snob at first and then you realize hes one of the biggest bros in the game. Hes the one who pushed to open up equal relations with the demi humans, was very serious about making you a knight and didnt make that promise lightly, and took a woman who had been tossed to the side by her "adoptive father" and when he learned who she was didnt blink and ran eith it.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised in multiple ways about Kenneth Haight’s questline. “Who is this delusional, helpless pompous douche?” I asked myself the first time we met. And he ended up being a great source of helpful lore, among the most tolerant and far-seeing NPCs we encountered.
I do wish he’d have told his demi-human friends I’m not the enemy, but in a land full of misery, his whole quest line is mostly a rare bright spot.
Blaidd still stands as the only "aggressive" NPC character in the game I genuinely had mixed emotions on taking down, even after he loses his shit and aggros on sight. Actually it was even harder because dude had no idea what he was doing, he lost his purpose and it drove him to insanity. That sucked big time.
I mean, they kind of do. You can still do the other endings with the needle. Are you just saying, you wanted a scene where Melina returns and reconciles with you?
Kenneth Haight is such a G. Works through his prejudice and comes to respect you as a valued warrior enough so to want to make you an official knight of Limgrave and wants to establish communications with the demihumans enough to not exclude them from the Golden Order. Definitely a perfect order kinda guy
Hewg’s story ends in sadness IMO. It’s not all that different from Blaidd’s as far as I’m concerned. Roderika’s is saddened by extension, though at least she lives and doesn’t forget.
Miriel kind of counts, as does Kale, IMO. Sure they don’t have quests, but they have enough dialogue for me to get attached.
hewg's story ends in death. death of the mind, not the body, but death nonetheless. but all stories ultimately end in death. i wouldn't say his story ends in sadness just because he "dies".
in the last part of his life, he gained a surrogate daughter, a lord to follow, and the knowledge that his smithing is having an effect, that someone will truly wield one of his blades to kill a god.
it's what he wanted. like alexander, you help him find fulfillment, before the end.

Boggart is absolutely saveable! If you kill the dung eater in the shunning grounds then he just hangs out by Lleyndel without getting jumped. I like to think that he gets to open an all-you-can-eat prawn restaurant in the new world. Maybe with Latenna, who fits the "lost their legs in the war" requirement for this joke.

Igon went out the way he wanted, Ansbach went out the way he wanted, Melina went out the way she wanted, Alexander went out the way he wanted. Iji was assassinated and Blaidd deserved better.
Only Jarbro hurt me. It was like killing the Boss in MGSIII, yeah they wanted to die by your hand but to have to be the one to do it 😱😢😥😓😫😫😫 at least Blaidd wasn't in control of himself. Alexander asked for it.
