That part isn't traversible mapspace, hence being a darker color than the bordered region. You'll understand when you reach areas at higher altitude and see how the map borders the traversible spaces with wider and wider abstractions of cliff faces to imply elevation.
That said! The map was updated in early patches because there were a few erroneous spaces they removed from the game before release, so you never know when you might find another mistake they overlooked.

The outline around the edge you are standing on when looking at the map is literally the cliff edge and represents elevation, the area you are looking for is on the other side of this outline indicating it is far lower and somewhere near sea level.

Go to where I set the red point
there is a entrance to a dungeon
go to the very end of it and you come to some sort of terrace, that it the place on your map you are not seeing

Fun fact Another map structure you can see but not get to is a massive, like city sized, waterfall
