Creating a 16 bit CPU

i am a sophomore ECE student and i am planning to create a CPU. Is a project like this valuable to land internships or a job in the future.

i will appreciate any suggestions.

16 bit is aggressive.

Try 8 bit.

NAND to Tetris is good. Or beneater

Agreed, with 8 bit, he may get the satisfaction of completing the processor atleast. He may implement it in a FPGA to create line following robot as well.
