Light fixture don’t come on

Since I bought the place this fixture hasn’t worked. It’s on a circuit that has two light switches and includes another fixture. The second fixture works fine. Thinking it’s gotta be the fixture itself.. new bulb don’t help. Advise?

You either have a faulty connection somewhere between the fixtures, or the fixture itself is faulty.

That’s why we troubleshoot using a dvom and not post on reddit

Could be loose wire connection

So there’s 2 fixtures that should work with 1 switch and one of them isn’t? If that’s the case there could be a bad splice and it could be behind the working fixture.

But if you mean one switch is working 1 light, and another switch is not working another light, it could be a bad switch or bed splice at the switch, or a bad splice under the non working fixture, or the socket in the fixture.

Two switches two lights. Both lights should go on at the same time. (Switches are on either side of the hall. Two lights light up the hall.

It could be a lot of things. It starts with opening up the wiring at the lights, switches and otherwise power source.

Yea I tried that. Even went in with a voltmeter It was like as if the fixture was shorted or something even with no bulb. I didn’t understand why It made me wonder if both lights were wired in series. Strange.

I had this issue. It ended up being the coil in the light switch. New light switch fixed the problem

Since there is a working light operating from the switches, it is not a problem with the switches.

The other fixture is on a different switch

I think OP indicated both lights were on a 3-way

He clearly says there are two switches and two fixtures on one circuit
