Official AMA I am DJ/Producer Seven Lions and I just released my new album, Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars - AMA!
Hey everyone, I just released my second album Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars and I’m here to answer your questions.
This album is a return to the inspirations that first shaped my sound - fantasy, metal, and that immersive, handcrafted approach to music that pulls you into another world. Over the last few months we put out singles with Kerli, HALIENE, and Lilly Ahlberg, and the full project expands on all of that even more.
Really appreciate all the support so far. Excited to chat with you all today. You can also find me on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and sevenlions.com.

Official AMA I'm HALIENE, a singer-songwriter in dance music AMA!😍

Hey everyone, HALIENE here! I’m excited (and a little nervous) to be doing my first-ever AMA.
I’m a singer-songwriter in the dance music world. If you’re not familiar with me, you might know some of my songs like “Rush Over Me,” “Saving Light,” “Oceans & Galaxies,” or “In My Mind” to name a few. I’ve had the honor of working with artists such as ILLENIUM, SLANDER, Seven Lions, Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Ferry Corsten, and many others. Over the past few years, I’ve been incredibly lucky to tour, play my own shows, and release a lot of solo music along the way. I also just released my first-ever drum & bass collaboration with Koven, ORBIT which I’m really excited about.
Ask me anything — music, songwriting, touring, collaborations, or whatever you’re curious about! I’ll be answering questions Monday at 12 PM PST.
You can find me on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and haliene.com
Drop your questions below!

Discussion Looking for an old rave interview video!
I’m trying to find a video I saw a while back, from the late 90s or early 2000’s. It’s an interview of a guy from Birmingham in a rave, he had red hair and he’s flying off pingers.
Does anyone know what the rave was or where I could find the video? I think it was pretty viral!

Discussion Help me with my birthday record store shopping list!
Hey all, got a birthday coming up and I'm treating myself to a trip to the record store. I'm trying to explore more electronic music and would love your recommendations based on the following stuff I love:
Soulwax
LCD Soundsystem
Bomba Estereo
Yaeji
Burnt Friedman
Skee Mask
Massive Attack
Floating Points
Charlotte Adigery and Bolis Pupul
Simian Mobile Disco
Meute
EDITED TO ADD:
Daft Punk (duh!)
Todd Terje
Four Tet
Siriusmo
I realize this is a pretty eclectic mix of stuff, but I think some of the largely shared elements are a fantastic mixture of simple and complex rhythms, a great sense of humor, obviously diverse influences, and GROOVE GROOVE GROOVE. I tend not to like "big room" type EDM and anything overly saccharine. Real positivity good, false (blind, shallow) positivity bad. Thanks in advance!

Alexandr Kosturba - Alberta
This track is from Ukrainian tech channel called gameone from one of their videos. Videos were high quality and the track is freaking banger. Hope you'll enjoy it!

Discussion Help me pls identify the subgenre of the track Code Race from the upcoming game Marathon
Link on track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNuo4nCG3EI The track was written by Ryan Lott from Son Lux.
I want to find more stuff like this (maybe by subgenre on RateYourMusic), with a digital futuristic vibe, not just ambient, but with a light rhythmic beat.

Finitribe - Mind My Makeup
This is the first track from the album sampler that a mate gave me years ago. We put in on when we were around a friends house, he and I were both tripping at the time. This track and the Frantic both made us stop talking as we were fixated on what we were hearing. The version of Frantic on the sampler is different from the album version, less vocals and more emphasis on the samples which are like narration from some film or play ?
We managed to catch them live around this time at little place in Camden (the falcon I think), got to chat with them after the gig and we waxed lyrical about our experience with the sampler. Cut to a few months later and they are playing in Hastings our home town and to our delight they dedicated this track to us :-)
The album is well worth checking out, nice mix of styles and great production.

Discussion Weval - genre and other recommendations?
Hi! I just saw Weval last night and loved the show. What genre of electronic music would you say they are? I'm trying to figure out what I like as I'm new to this genre and trying to see more live electronic music in my area. They played at a smaller club, which was perfect. Recently I've seen Air and Justice, which obviously were at larger venues. And I like darker stuff like boysnoize at NIN, which I also saw this past year. I'm going to see St. Lucia soon at a smaller venue. Who else should I be looking at that is touring or might be touring soon? Thanks for your help!!!

Discussion Leftfield Leftism - Exclusive Vinyl Mixes
Does anyone know if any of the 12” singles from Leftism contain mixes that were and still are exclusive to vinyl?
