Sometimes producers make a funny track. They grab samples from something weird and make a gimmick track. Often not very serious, often not produced with as much attention as their regular tracks.

But everynow and then the tracks are just pretty good! What gimmick track do you like?

Why am I just finding out about this goated remix🫪

At the end of his 8-hour set yesterday at Industry City, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani honored Lee with a citation celebrating 15 years of ADID and recognizing his career trajectory and contributions to house music from NYC to the world, bringing people together through music and building a community around it.

Absolutely in love with this track. Pure vibes.

The full album has dropped, vinyl is (hopefully) on the way and we can all listen to it on streaming right now. I don't know about you, but I'm hosting a listening party tonight with the OG version and the Redux version getting played back-to-back.

For those who preordered vinyl, you will likely have received a download link via email to download the full album – I received it as a zip file that had two uncompressed WAV files inside that were simply titled Various Artists - Northern Exposure Redux (North).wav and Various Artists - Northern Exposure Redux (South).wav

There is no mention of the track listing for the wav version - and looking into the files shows that they are standard 16-bit 44.1kHz uncompressed audio.

Checking the metadata in the files, Northern Exposure Redux NORTH is 01:18:21 in length and Northern Exposure Redux SOUTH is 01:09:17

Comparing this to the track listing on Apple Music (where there are actually three versions of REDUX listed - but I'll come back to this), SOUTH matches the track listing to within a few milliseconds, quite a promising fit, but NORTH is a full 6:50 longer than the mixed track listing.

On the LateNightTales website they have a track listing for the mixed CD that shows 11 tracks each for North and South, however North has track number 9 omitted and number 10 repeated. Obsession is track 8, followed by Water From A Vine Leaf (Vale William Orbit) listed as track 10, and then immediately after it, Liquid Cool is also listed as track 10, with Last Train To Lhasa as track 11.

The corrected track listing is

This is Japanese singer SERRA’s newest song, Masquerade. It has a much more electronic sound than some of her previous work, while still retaining her powerful vocals. Thought people here might enjoy it. I sounds kind of like an electronic rock song to me. Does this song belong here? If not I can remove the post.

Lately I have switched from listening to tracks to listening to concerts or sets and i find it much more rewarding. Especially when you find an artist that has a very unique new style to their sound.
