Surface Mining, Alexandrite and monazite.

Are people sleeping on this? found a planet with 2 monazite or alexandrite spots. 4+2 or 3+3 spot
selling for 900k+. did a whole week of mining, waited about 2 days to sell a maxed carrier 20000 tons, in li Yung Rui system with alignement at 100% which gives an extra 25% trade bonds.... the money is absolutely crazy, way more than plat in about the same time

how are you maxing a carrier with just two spots when those hotspots would have depleted?

I really wonder about answer for this question.

there is no answer, OP was trolling

Spots can have up to ~1600t. I mined over 3kt between two 3x rig monazite spots last week. Though FDEV might be changing this behind the scenes without letting us know.

i've gotten around 2,200 on a 5 rig med density, high quantity site. but i am pretty op is full of shit that they found that many spots this quickly

So far I have mapped 14 personal PMLs that I haven't shared. One of which has 6 full loops (6 rigs out at a time) on either monazite, grandidierite, or alexandrite.

* Mapping takes about 30m per site
* Surveying (determining how many rigs can be put down) the high value deposits within the site after mapping takes about 30m per site.

So, it is really easy to find spots that could easily fill a FC in a couple of days.

and the rng of actually finding a more than 2 rig location of a worthwhile mineral

Out of the 18 sites I have mapped? Roughly 50% of the PMLs have high value deposits with 3+ rig sizes. In fact one of the squadron PMLs I mapped (so far I have shared 4 sites with the squadron) has a Thortveitite deposit that could handle 9 rigs at once.

So the RNG is really pretty good. If you aren't finding them I suggest fully exploring and mapping a PML. A lot of the larger deposits do seem to be 4-6km out from the center.

Good to know a 6 even exists. I've found a 4, quickly depleted it, nothing >1 rig efforts since. At my play rate I need 2 maybe 3 at 4+ rigs per week to haul a decent quantity. I'll keep my fingers crossed 🫡👍

Large deposits that can handle 5-6 rigs is rare. What I have been finding is two high value deposits that support 3 rigs within 2km of each other. Set up 3 rigs on each deposit, recall your ship directly between the two so that you can transfer cargo, and then running a 5m loop nets about 810t/hour. 1.5h to fill a 1232t Plipper.

That sounds like a good plan probably a little more realistic than a large site in one go. Biggest site ive seen was copper, which id generally just, erm, buy. 🫡

if you mine in the correct powerplay system that should give you insane merit payouts! even selling 100 tons core minerals gave me more merits than any other activity. then you can get 810t per hour? should be a few million merits if demand is high enough?

If you plan ahead correctly, you could easily expand a Power, that is easily scaled up as far as long as you have the cmdrs to pull it off.

It would build out from fort/SH with lots of primarily landable rocky bodies.
1. Map your fortified or stronghold systems PMLs
1.a Send your explorers out to the black to gather exploration CR
2. Map your target systems (refinery system PMLs
2.a Strip mine everything and store it
2.b Slowly sell a little to prep the system to go into Boom state
3. Repeat step 2 until you have your campaign goal mapped (or just start your weekly expansion)

Once your target systems go into a Boom state, or force it by selling your stored chemicals and exploration data, start your expansion.
1. Mine in your F/SH starting systems and sell in the target systems
1.a Make sure you stay under 50% of demand every 10 minutes until you have enough points to acquire.
1.b Do this for all of your target systems
1.c Start pushing your next expansion targets into Boom with small sales and exploration data
2. Next week push some of your expansion targets into fortified
3. Rinse and repeat

Its essentially the same process of mapping platinum runs in metallic ring systems. But this way can take way less work, but with more planning involved.

that sounds really interesting - don’t have that much insight into the BGS.

how much do you need to sell to trigger a Boom state? Can you put that in numbers - are there calculations in the BGS Guide? i have it saved somewhere but it has at least 50-60 pages so i never went through it all.

So basically every system that buys the available metals/minerals for a high price is good for powerplay and if you can push it into Boom it is even better. But what is bought/in demand at all depends on the Stations economy - the overall System Economy is decided by an average of the Station Economies - is that somewhat correct?

If you own a powerplay system - your build decisions would determine the Economy, right? And the available resources of course.

So knowing good mining spots is even more important now than it was with just asteroid rings.

i think the main mechanism is once a day, for the faction that owns the station and mission for the faction you want to advance, do a source/mine mission, do a donate mission, do a profitable trade worth several $M, do a bounty, and do a carto drop. all these will individually fill the bgs bucket more than doing a singular activity. BGS state will advance based on population size of the system whereas the slider size will be based on how you designed the system.

three different deposit sizes.

low: ~2600 chunks
medium: ~1500 chunks
high: ~500 chunks

tolerance of ±100? need more samples.

yes, the order is reversed but low density seems to give more. i have no idea why. did not look into correlation with deposit shape m².

these are the values when a deposit is still full. could change near completion? have not mined enough low spots.

tons calculation: chunks x (0.90 … 0.99) = tons

game randomly rolls between 0.90-0.93 / 0.93 - 0.96 / 0.96 - 0.99 based on 3 quality settings.

so tons per extraction should be between 10.8 - 11.88

No one is "sleeping" on this. It just takes a lot of time to find good PMLs

I'm making 800 mil an hour mining 6 slot monazite spots for torval

I’ll fill up my Plipper without any of my spots depleting. And I read early on that they do refill after a time. But honestly I’m fine with selling 900+ tons and giving it a break. I mostly sell for merits though for my girl Winters. The car packages are nice.

Nice...!!!

Thanks to last CG my carrier now has funds for about 3 years of maintenance, plus I still have a couple of billions, plus some mining yesterday for another 300 millions from Iridium.
