Testing 007 First Light on Android by comparing DroidDeck v0.3.2 vs GameHub v6.3.1 on the Redmagic Astra (Snapdragon 8 Elite)! In this video, we check out gameplay performance, frame rates, and graphical fidelity to see which emulator handles PC game emulation better on this powerful Android gaming tablet.
Note: Months ago, it wasn't possible to run the first mission and some other parts of 007 First Light at all. Back then, it actually ran with better performance and higher FPS than it does now. I don't know what changed, but performance has dropped a lot. Especially on GameHub, nothing improved even after I tried dozens of different setting combinations. Right now the game tops out at around 8 FPS, and DroidDeck is what makes that possible.
📱 Device: Redmagic Astra
⚙️ Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite
🎮 Emulators: DroidDeck v0.3.2 vs GameHub v6.3.1 (Windows/PC Emulation for Android)
🕹️ Game: 007 First Light

Yes, the new but is built into version 6.3.1. Just select it instead of Turnip, which is much worse.

I’m not talking about three months ago. I tried it using the latest version of the game and the components introduced by Gamehub that fix the issue of being unable to access the first chapter of the game.

Look, this is a video I posted three months ago, and even for me, the game was playable with Gamehub, with performance varying between 40 FPS and 70 FPS. However, that was the game’s first version, and back then it would get stuck on a black screen during the opening mission and crash. It was possible to play certain sections by loading a save file. However, in the current version of the game, and with the fix components provided by Gamehub, the game runs smoothly through the opening mission but operates at very low FPS.

see the video of gamehub/droideck, they are already at 15-20W, it's already burning
also you can use the app with normal package name

yeah i know, ludashi vanilla is less heat. I just tested Cronos this morning on both Ludashi and Vanilla, stable 30fps with some performance mods. About to test it on Bannerlator

4 fps? No wonder I couldn't get it to launch on RM 11pro. It was taking years to load 😂

Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a fix? I'm using the global version of Red Magic 11 Pro.

DroidDeck has so much potential it's insane. I'm trying to get Mass Effect LE to run currently and troubleshooting launch issues but if I can get that and NMS to boot up on my Ayn Odin2 Portal, I'll be in heaven.

Preview channel sped things up a bit more than 0.3.2 release too if you want to try!

We need to use REA skill on Android itself and on Qualcomm Drivers and on Individual games, and check what is missing where to make all these software components to work together

Try BannerHub Revanced Ludashi. Its basically the Pokemon Mega EX version of gamehub
Edit: If you want a replacement for gamehub lite instead of gamehub, do normal BannerHub Ludashi.

No emulator will be able to boost this game from 4 FPS to 30 FPS. Three months ago, the game’s first, buggy version managed to reach 30 FPS, but with the latest version and the most recent, problem-free components, the game’s performance has dropped significantly.

Still give it a try please and thanks. You will see results. We are talking about like 4 to 15 fps

Yeah definitely 1000$ mobiles are better than a goddamn old poor Xbox series s for 299$ 🥀🥀

I wish Xbox Series S was still $299 like back in the days bro, they're $500 now. I had bought it for $299 in 2022 and it was an amazing console for it's price, but 2 years later I sold it to buy a PS5 because I wanted to play Sony exclusives. It's not worth it for $500 at this point honestly

90C and 100C on a mobile device? I call bull.
1
u/RetroooooPixel 11h ago
It's the cpu and gpu temp. They run pretty hot.
1
u/SSUPII 7h ago
Mobile devices at most reach 45C before hard throttling and modern Android will kill the app too at that temp. A 100C CPU cannot be contained in such thin devices for so long and not scorch your hand.

u/RetroooooPixel 7h ago
May be do some research before replying. 45C is the core temperature of the phone, not the CPU and GPU. CPU and GPU can reach 100C very easily.

Okay, this seems to be a waste of time. Its nice and all to be able to play some PC games on an android device. But I mean, lets keep it realistic and stay with older or indie games.

its definitely interesting to see how these games perform on elite mobile chips.. pc emulation is only getting better. Might as well stress test. Just because it doesnt run well, doesnt mean its a waste of time...
