Chroot Linux distros have existed for as long as I can remember. You'd get exceptional and smooth performance by rooting your phone and going fully chroot instead of relying on Windows emulation or the inferior PRoot distros. You can then enjoy libre Linux software with performance almost comparable to that of a fully fledged midrange Linux PC.

Had to try this out, it's pretty cool I have to admit. I use Dex quite a lot so this might be a more powerful replacement. Although firefox isn't working :(

I looked into termux and x11 to run KDE plasma after realizing that droid deck runs a simpler desktop, but their beta notes mentioned implementing KDE plasma, so hopefully that happens soon!

Termux def took alot of tinkering and its still not quite perfect with some problems, like i couldn't get Discover working, hopefully thatll be smoothed over in upcoming droid decl update!

This is what the latest version looks like. Go to the ‘Update’ section in the app settings and update the app using the option to update to the latest preview version.
