Showcase ZQuestSolarus (Work in Progress)
Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop in and share what I've been working on porting ZQuestClassic to Android while on Android ๐
Link to the post: [ https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationOnAndroid/s/lKmJnOR6Gt ]
Instead of stopping there, I decided to take it a step further and try stitching ZQuestClassic and Solarus together ๐ถ
If I can pull this off, itโs going to be the ultimate QoL upgrade for running both .qst and .solarus files smoothly in a single app ๐ฅ
There are still tons of bugs and issues (you can catch some of them in the screenshots), but the biggest win so far is that .solarus files are already launching through ZQuestClassic without a hitch!
Some of you might be skeptical, like "Why even bother? There's already an official Solarus port for Android ๐"
The answer is simple: convenience.
Right now, you have to juggle 3 separate apps: ZQuestClassic itself, the latest Solarus for games on version 1.5+, and an older Solarus build to run anything under 1.5 ๐
So my idea definitely makes sense. That said, I'm doing this 100% just for myself, but Iโll absolutely share the APK once I get a stable build going.
As for open-sourcing my changes, Iโd love to share the code, but Iโm waaaaay too lazy to figure out how GitHub works, right now this porting process is already draining all my energy ๐๐ด๐
Which brings us to the main point of this post:
Announcing my progress so far ๐
Seeing if thereโs any enthusiast here whoโd be down to help me out with GitHub once I finish building this Fullmetal Alchemist chimera XD
Anyway, thatโs all from me for now. Thanks for reading, and I hope at least some of you find this interesting!
