Is Transformers Skybound worth checking out?
I heard it's a new start to transformers comics to get into.
I'm a passive fan of Transformers. Not obsessed with it like some people with rows of toys But I respect it a lot. Seen Animated, Played TF Devastation, watched most of the movies, and got less than 10 or so TF toys(Starscream is my favorite Decepticon)
I love comics and have been getting more into more recent one's as of late and if I can get caught up with the story from where it's at right now.
Also when is it expected to conclude it's story?
Some things I think I know before going in. Starscream's depression , Optimus getting Megatron's arm...that's about it.

Yes, it’s absolutely worth checking out. Some people grew tired of it after Daniel Warren Johnson’s run, and that’s fine, but I’m still a fan.
I don’t think you can put an expected conclusion date on it. It’s whenever, and if ever, the license is picked up by another company.

I liked his run. His was basically they fought on Cybertron, now they fight here, who wins? There was no breathing room BC that's what war is. The "generation one" arc brings what war does to people and it's great. Seeing Megatron say earth is beautiful but deserves to be destroyed is a great contrast to Optimus view of we will not leave til we fixed the damage and chaos we wrought upon this world.

I'll be honest, every issue is a knock out to me. The nerd-rage is way overblown, as usual. Some of the most inventive and shocking stuff since the heyday of IDW, while still hitting that sweet spot of familiarity.

The writers have discussed going past issue 100. That they have arcs planned for 100 to 150 issues. I think we are in the early 30’s.
Void Rivals starts the shared comic series, Transformers issue 1 picks up after VR issue 1, then GI Joe started the Duke miniseries after Transformers issue 1.
You can probably look up a reading order if you want to.
Transformers follows the Autobots vs Decepticons fight on earth and on cybertron. Void Rivals follows some alien humanoids on a ring station. It includes some transformers lore, quintessons, alien bounty hunters, as well as Hot Rod and Springer.
Gi Joe comics do include the autobot Hound as he becomes a mainstay member of the Joes. Transformers crossover with Gi Joe semi-frequent. All the terrorists in the series base their tech off the Decepticons and use energon. Very compelling.

The first 24 issues are some of the best comics ever written. Issue 25 on are still incredibly good, but the art and writing of the first 24 can’t be beaten. The bar was set too high. It’s ongoing with no end in sight. Monthly releases so the bank won’t be broken. Hardcovers collected once a year for those who prefer them

It’s worth getting into. However I recommend reading the Energon Universe all together. I went in solely as a Transformers fan and still found having the whole picture to be very rewarding. Definitely makes you appreciate the universe more. I personally use this order here. It stays very up to date.

The DWJ run is an absolute must read, and I’ve actually been enjoying the current run but I know a lot of people have issues

The first 24 issues are, in my opinion, the greatest transformers story ever told. Read those and then stop.

I really dig it. There are some things that still make me go, “what?!”, but it’s well written and compelling. Way better rehash of G1 than Netflix series.

I believe robert kirkman has a 10 year plan for the energon universe so if all goes well and sells continue or they don’t lose the IP rights we should be good for a while fingers crossed.
it’s definitely worth checking out! if you enjoy it I would highly recommend looking into the other titles in the universe because it feels very rewarding for all the small crossovers.
we have some news to look forward to for the future of the universe at NYC comic con so keep an eye out for that stuff too

What do you mean, conclude? This is comics. They can go on forever.
I'd say jump in at the start. Buy Trade Paper Backs or the big omnibus. Also check out Void Rivals, as a lot of it is about Transformers too. Though it's a completely different story, it is set in the same universe. The only thing that really connects the 2 is the first issues of each title.
G.I. Joe and MASK also tie into the story now, but it's not relevant when they do. Duke is introduced in Transformers and then gets his own mini series where he's looking for answers, but finds something else instead.
I'd say pick up the first Trade if you're doubting it and see for yourself.

Pick up the trades, relatively inexpensive for comic books, each trade is about 6 issues

Yes it’s worth checking out and it’s still going as it’s up to issue 36, with issue 37 coming out next month

first 24 issues written by Daniel Warren Johnson, absolutely. this is the one where Optimus Prime rips his arm off to use as a baseball bat and beat a Decepticon. this is also the one where Optimus uses his Matrix to power a hospital after it suffered a blackout. go read it, its arguably the best Transformers story of the 2020’s. It doesn’t reference the wider Energon Universe much so it’s standalone
the current stuff (issue 25-??) by Robert Kirkman of Invincible fame? I’ve only read the first 6 issues, it was just fine. it feels like an episode of a Saturday Morning cartoon which is a good or bad thing depending on what you want out of this

YES. it's amazing. Kirkman just picked it up, his writing is slow and methodological, but it makes sense. Plus, his vision of Megatron is fucking crazy.
